Had a great stay at this hotel at the weekend, thanks to Johnny for his help and for arranging a nice room on the upper floor. Nice breakfast included and clean rooms. Local Bus number 1 from palm springs to the door is handy too..

There were several problems with my reservation even though I booked directly through Holiday Inn . I had booked for 4 people in a room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed and weeks after the reservation was booked, they went in and tried to add an extra person charge even though we had only 4 people in the room and for one night there were only 3. It was quite a hassle to get it resolved and it should never have happened. They were just trying to gouge guests because they could due to limited options for the Coachella Festival weekends. It's disgraceful, but all the area hotels do it. Other than that, the room was nice. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. The internet was extremely slow but the place was full and I'm sure everyone was online at the same time. The bedding was nice with all sheets. The room was carpeted and hard floors are my preference. If the rate was significantly lower, I would stay there again.

Location: Rancho Mirage could be the best place to stay in the valley. It’s close to all the towns in the area and has great restaurants and shops. The HIE is really conveniently situated near shopping and with at least 5 or 6 restaurants within easy walking distance.
Check-in / out and staff: Everything was great with the exception of check in. We arrived just after noon, and were told the room wasn’t ready. Asked them to please get it ready asap. Two hours later and still nothing. Another half an hour and I started to have a sense of humor failure. Really, is it not possible to clean a room in well over 2 hours? Highly irritating and unnecessary.
Parking: Plenty parking round the hotel, free.
Room: Really clean and well appointed. Large screen Tv, refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave.
Breakfast: The usual, with a reasonable selection of both hot and cold choices.
Wi-Fi: Fluctuated quite a bit, but overall it was okay. (See test pic)
TV and Air Conditioning: Both were new and functioned well.
Stay again? Definitely. Whilst not cheap, unfortunately all hotels are relatively expensive in this part of the world!

The main reason for my review is to upload the most recent photos of the rooms for 2022. Holiday Inn Express is a budget hotel. It is a very adequate and comfortable place to say in a GREAT location for Rancho Mirage/Palm Desert.

You can walk to dozens of shops, restaurants, mall, and hiking trails from here.

Room tip: You will not have a problem with parking.

Nice hotel with a couple of issues. The air conditioning unit blows directly on the reading chair on the right side of the bed. There is no way to adjust it. There are up/down temperature control buttons on the air conditioner, but they did not work. I did not discover until the next day that the control to adjust the temperature is on one of the walls. I wish I had known that as it was quite cold in the room. The reading lamp in my room had a burnt out bulb. The blackout curtains are quite effective. The complementary breakfast was adequate and they are serving some hot items such as scrambled eggs and sausages. Staff is very nice and helpful, especially the gentleman at the front desk in the evening and the guy who served breakfast on July 10..
