For those who are craving for good seafood in Los Angeles Area, this is the place to be. There's a lot of restaurant in Redondo Beach Pier but nothing beats Quality Seafood. Fresh oysters, fresh lobsters (although lobster in East Coast and oysters in Baltimore is cheaper), but honestly they're really good.

Now in Oysters, you can have a selection on which oyster to get. Pacific oysters are the best still. There's a few that stands out too, Baja is good. You can ask the shuckers which one they will recommend if you're not too sure. Being a chef, I'm quite used to picking out seafood. There are some oysters that are good for steaming, which is cheaper, they sell it by pound. The fresh raw ones are sold by pieces. I would say some are a bit pricey but it's good to try a few different kinds to figure out which one you like.

Lobsters, you can pick which lobster you'd like. They'll cook it for you. It was a bit pricey but they're seriously sweet. I would say it is probably the best one I've had so far, so no regrets.

There are other seafood available, crabs, clams, fish, (we tried the cod before, they made it into fish and chops but I felt it was overcooked). The best part was when they had fresh sea urchins. That was the bonus. It was nice and taste so clean and fresh. You can still see the urchin's spikes moving. Back where I live, usually we just pick up sea urchins from the waters and eat it while boating or at the beach. Didn't have to pay for it because it's free. But letting my family experience eating sea urchin like this here at Redondo, it is pretty awesome.

Seating, well, it's a picnic style where in you take paper table covers and set up your area. It's self-service and you might want to bring your own cutlery or nut cracker (for your lobsters/ crabs). I would bring my own wipes as well and sanitizer because the restroom is not too hygienic. It can get crowded too so go at the time before everybody comes down for lunch.

All in all, despite it being too pricey, I would go back there whenever I have the chance.

Quality Seafood is basically a market for all fresh seafood, preparing whatever you choose for consumption in a picnic-style atmosphere. Very popular...

You do your visual selection on long market counters, and then wait for chucking or steaming or whatever... Concrete tables and benches are available; long sheet paper is available for your table-setting as a crude tablecloth or seat cover. Plastic utensils...

Obviously, this is an expert seafood market, but it is not cheap to any extent. Particularly, the multitude of different oysters is dear on your wallet.

Cruised by looking for some Kumamoto Oysters. They had them - before ordering I checked the harvest tag, they were over 3 weeks old since harvested. That's begging for a trip to the infirmary. Pass.

This is an open air fish market with large selection of fresh seafood. My eyes are only on Dungeness Crab. I had them select 2 hugh crabs and had them steamed, which takes about 20 minutes. They give you a buzzer after paying for the items so you could walk around until they are done. Picked them up after steaming, purchased 2 wooden hammers, which you will get your money back when returning to cashier. Picked up large pieces of white paper to cover the outdoor table and proceeded to crack open and enjoy this delicacy. So GOOD!!!
