Having fresh quality seafood in a restaurant right on the water is a pleasure that one can't have in too many places. The Redondo Beach Pier is one of those. While there are a number of seafood places including a seafood market where you can pick out fresh seafood and have them prepared on the spot, those who want a more upscale dining experience can always go to Kincaid's.

The menu is varied and all items are well thought-out with distinctive flavors and all the trimmings, but not more than needed. Beverages are equally diverse. Their mojito is especially refreshing.

The 3 stars is for the view/ambience. If this restaurant were anywhere else, it would be 1 star due to the quality of the food for the price you're paying.

Kincaids is right on the Redondo Beach pier, so has great views of the pier and the waves crashing on the rocks beneath you. If you're seated inside, you have a great ocean view. For an especially romantic meal, ask to be seated on the patio outside, where you have great views of the pier, waves, and the sunset (from a part of it). The patio is also great for happy hour!

The food, sadly, did not live up to expectations. For entrees that cost $25+ apiece, I expected tasty dishes, not something bland that tasted like it came from a microwave. The food is better at Panera and Chipotle, which cost less than half the price- closer to a third. I had the halibut and my wife had the prime rib.

You are paying for the location and the views- keep this in mind if you come here (though I've heard they have a good happy hour menu).

Some local friends brought us to eat at this restaurant and to see the sunset at the beach. The view was gorgeous! There was a wait so we sat at the bar and had water and the crab and artichoke dip appetizer which was pretty good. When we got moved to our table we had a great and knowledgable server. I had the French onion soup. So good! Other meals at the table included the salmon, crab legs, Caesar salad, and a soup with corn in it. Can't remember the name but it was fantastic! Oh! And the bread they served before our meal came out was so good! I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Everything that we experienced at Kincaid's was very good to excellent service. My wife had the Mali Chef and I had french dip(could have used a little drippings) I would recommend this restaurant. The food was served warm and quickly. If you are outside you also experience a good view of the ocean.

Our friends took us to dinner to this wonderful place. The food was really good as was the service! We sat outside and could hear the waves against the rocks. Its classic American dining with a twist! Whether it was the fact the weather was just perfect, ( as in in CA!) or that we were in great company, the restaurant was a memorable experience.
