Ambience: The place is generally clean and bright. It didn’t smell of cleaning product which is often a problem in chain restaurants. The ceiling (acoustic tiles) is dark with food and oil stains.
Service: We were there for a late lunch. Maybe five out of fifty tables had people. Just average service. A few times we were waiting to get refills
Food: we both did the “endless shrimp”. Of course they first provide other items to fill you up. The cheddar biscuits (best part of meal) were warm, but no butter The salad was basic ice berg with two cherry tomatoes, about five shreds of cabbage and croutons. My partner got red onion slices, I didn’t. The blue cheese dressing was barely blue. I’d give a 2.5 to the salad
Now to the shrimp. The coconut shrimp are super small and overloaded with batter. The dipping sauce is pleasant with pineapple and mayo as the main ingredients. But the real issue was that the shrimp were mealy. I even picked off the batter and BLECH. The next shrimp plate was the “Nashville Hot” style. The shrimp size made them recognizable. Seemed like the same batter, but here there is honey drizzled on the plate with some red spice. It is neither spicy nor hot. Rather it is a gentle tingle. Not bad but tiresome after a while. As to the shrimp, they themselves had no discernible flavor. BLECH. The garlic grilled shrimp took the longest to get. They were a reasonable size and skewered. The garlic oil was very mild, but again there was no pop of shrimp flavor.
Within ten minutes of leaving the restaurant we both took Tums to settle our stomachs
Never going back. BLECH
