AFTER A 45 MINUTE WAIT, THE HOSTESS SLAMMED A GLASS DOWN ON OUR TABLE SHATTERING IT IN OUR FACES. Sometimes, the only responsible course of action is to leave a bad review. BE FOREWARNED. This was the WORST, RUDEST treatment I have ever received in a restaurant. Briefly, our party had 7:45 p.m. reservations. We arrived early, 7:35 p.m., because we like to be on-time or a few minutes early. We gathered cheerfully at the bar, had one alcoholic beverage per party member followed by Pellegrino over the course of our 45-minute standing wait, meaning, we were not drunk or unruly. We noticed that we were being continually passed up for parties that came in after us and politely inquired about our remaining wait. Finally, the hostess, who was increasingly dismissive toward us said we could have a table, which she pointed out. After the guests at that table left, we sat, because we had been standing for going on an hour. We even gathered up the debris left by the previous guests in the center of the table to be helpful. The hostess at that point came over and told us to get up so that she could clean the table. We pointed out that we had already bussed it for her and that we should be able to sit while the table was being set since we had been waiting for so long. She got so mad that she SLAMMED A GLASS DOWN ON THE TABLE, SHATTERING IT IN OUR FACES and stormed off. The next thing we knew the chef showed up with a belligerent attitude asking us who made his employee cry, no inquiry about what happened. He did not seem to believe or care that the hostess literally shattered a glass in our faces. At that point, I asked him if he would like us to leave and he said, “Yes.” Wow! Unreal. No apology. No concession that we had been waiting patiently almost an hour, no effort whatsoever to “make it right for the customer.” All of us were repeat patrons. And yet, it gets worse! The people at the table that was seated before us (and next to us) but had reservations AFTER us stood and started yelling profanities at us. “Yeah, get out bitch!” from a man at that table to me! I never once used profanity or was impolite. I believe, however, that the people at that table, the ones yelling profanities at us, were related to someone working at the restaurant. The manager never came out to speak to us, though we asked for him. We were all so astonished that we wondered if the hostess was related to someone running the restaurant, as well. She definitely lied about her behavior and what had happened. So, there you have it. Photo included.
