I was visiting from out of town and my friend lives in Koreatown, and we'd had both never had Korean BBQ before. So, I proposed we take an adventure together, and we ended up here after reading the great reviews.
We showed up around opening time, and saw there was a valet in the small lot. It didn't cost much which was good since there's not a lot of parking in the area. The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there, which was fine by us.
We really didn't know what we were about to experience, and just chose one of the pre-chosen options on the menu that included beef, pork, and chicken. We figured the variety would give us a good idea of what Korean BBQ had to offer.
Shortly after our order, the server brought about 12 little dishes of things and placed them around the grill. We had no idea what they all were. We asked, and the server barely spoke English, which to us, was a good sign to the authenticity to the restaurant. Unfortunately we didn't understand her much, and just sampled a few of the small items, which were okay.
Then the meats came out. The server placed them on the grill for us and we could take them off when we felt like it. The marinated beef was the best! The one we didn't care for much was the pork belly, which we surprised about since we thought it would have been a slam dunk.
It was good overall,for a fun new experience.
