We were looking for a nice place to have dinner in Old Sac. We went to Joe's and it was a 55 minute wait so we walked down to Rio City. We thought it was closed until my husband opened the door. We were seated right away and had a lovely view of the river. The prices were more than we usually like to spend on dinner but we didn't want to go looking for another place. The food was pretty good and the waitress was friendly.

Validated parking at the big garage across the railroad tracks half a block away. Outside and inside seating -- we chose inside due to wind.

Four for lunch at 12:30 on a Saturday. No waiting, seated in a half-moon booth, very comfortable. Water came quickly, my Pepsi not so fast. We had one order of banana pancakes which was large and tasty -- bananas between the large pancakes, nuts on top. The crab melt was also excellent, a quartered grilled edifice of crab, veg, aoli, and rosemary fries. My partner had the burger, American kobe beef and the rosemary fries. It was large, perfectly cooked, and suitable for a burger lover. I had the Monte Cristo. It had too much breading and crust, insufficient ham and turkey. Interesting presentation of four little cubes deep fried. Came with watermelon, cantalope, and a slice of fresh pineapple along with raspberry jam for dipping.

This is one of my favorite places along the Sacramento River Front. If you are able to get a window seat, the view is fantastic. The food is good, a little pricey so take your credit card, but for a romantic luncheon/dinner it is worth it.

We have been coming to Rio City Cafe for a number of years when we stay at The Delta King.
Our wait person (from Rumania) was excellent - attentive w/o hovering and so very pleasant.
We all three decided on the cheeseburgers as we weren't too hungry - and none of us finished ours.
They were made perfectly to order from rare to medium rare!
Two of us split a creme brule - wonderful!
It isn't the cheapest of places, but the food, service (and if you sit outside, the view) are worth it.

We were hanging out at home and got the urge to go and sit by the water and have a little wine and something to eat. Our friends drove up from the Bay Area and met us here. Although it was pretty busy, we were seated right on time for our reservation. Nice cocktails and our friends brought a nice bottle of wine. Our server was fairly new and made enough errors to upset most folks, but hey, he was out working and was putting forth the correct effort so we "hung in there" with him. He got some assistance from the manager when the wrong dish was brought for me. Apologies all around and a free dessert for the table demonstrated their sincere desire to get it right. Overall it was a very nice evening and a really nice spot to have dinner on the water.
