Average food in a spartan interior. I had a burger (bland) and my friend had a salad prior to an evening movie in the museum auditorium. In 'n Out burgers (less than $3) easily beat Supper Club burgers in terms of taste. If you want spectacular museum cafe food, visit SFMOMA. Eat here if you are short on time or have no better options.

Art museums traditionally have limited menus with safe, quality dishes. Crocker Cafe is that, but with an imaginative seasonal menu reflective of the local farm heritage. The Soup of the Day is always outstanding, and seasonal salads, entrees and desserts are great quality and quite convenient for the museum visitor. Normally, I might seek an interesting lunch restaurant when visiting a City art museum, but at the Crocker I'd say - why bother? The food is quite good, coming from one of Sacramento's better fine dining organizations. Five it a try.

I admit to wanting to return to the museum just for the cafe! Fresh and local items, prepared while you wait--or there are grab and go options. Service is good too,

When the cafe first open there was a section that had table service and possibly a better menu. You will not be disappointed to place your order and take to your table, some items ordered will be brought to your table. The cafe is located at ground level. It is a place for lunch or a light snack. It offers various salads, burgers, soup, drinks and some cookies and other sweets. Everything appears fresh, service prompt, it is good, but not outstanding. A place to take a break when touring the museum.

While visiting the Crocker Art Museum, one can work up an appetite and to sit down for a light lunch is a great way to relax, think, and take in the culture which is the Crocker. The menu is very creative with choices that will make you think and enjoy, as one wants during an afternoon of artistic enjoyment. Prices are reasonable, and portions can be ordered small or regular, so you can try a tuna white bean salad, and also split another entree with your friends.
