A terrific low key bistro with a very fine wine list. Not only was the list interesting and deep but almost all of the wines are available by the glass. The menu is eclectic with enough to chose from no matter your palate. The ingredients were fresh, well prepared and presented. Also the chef Soo Young Kim made sure to visit each table and ensure that all was well.

It doesn't get any better than this combo. The fried foods are light and crispy. The variety is interesting and the flavors are wonderful. We received personal attention to our tastes and good recommendations for wine to accompany our meals. I will definitely return on my next trip.

This is our first visit to this restaurant. We left very satisfied. Our dinners were near perfect. I request a half order of the rib selection and the chef agreed. The ribs melted in my mouth, with a salad and soup a half order was fine.
The wine list was a tad weak on offering multiple selection for the normal varietals we favor in California.

Bistro Viz keeps on getting better and better. Last night we experienced an exceptional Valentine's Day dinner. Normally you don't expect the highest quality on Valentine's Day. You gotta take your honey to a nice romantic place, but it's a bit of a crazy night from a restaurant's perspective. But not at Bistro Viz where the creatively designed menu with intriguing wine pairings gave back more than anyone expected. Every dish was perfectly presented and so delicious and flavorful that I still feel my palate savoring the tastes. Mushroom salad was an absolute winner. Scallops very nicely prepared. Short ribs-- a helalthy portion with so superb favors that after tasting this preparation you wonder if you have ever really eaten proper short ribs before. And then the duck confit--just perfect. We could tell Soo Young Kim was in the kitchen and hands on! Service was gracious. Ambiance was tasteful, comfortable, and relaxing. Easy street parking next to the San Anselmo Post Office.

I am dreaming of the clam chowder. Not too thick, just a hint of spice and bowl full of clams in the shells. Great service, nice wines. Cannot wait until the weather improves to use the lovely terrace.
