Stumbled across this museum in the Bay Area by accident and I am glad we found it.

It has a good selection of aircraft but the main draw card was the B747 nose which was pretty cool explore.

This museum has plenty of free parking out the front. Staff were friendly.

It's easy to miss the place, a small building just off the freeway junction going to San Mateo bridge. Most of the displays are related to Hiller helicopters and other Hiller products which surprisingly includes a toy gun. Quite cramped considering the eclectic displays although there were but a few people around when we visited. It is a good starting point for young people to become attached to the lure of aviation but may disappoint those who have been to a bigger place like Seattle's Museum of Flight.

Not all displays are aircraft, there is even a vintage Ford truck. The helicopter simulator was nice or if you want something flashier - go try to land a B777 in SFO. There's a front section of a B747-100 out in the back for one to feel the controls or just experience sitting in an upper deck seat.

A great way to learn about the history of aviation from the beginning, including concept ideas that never flew until present day. I particularly liked the section on woman in flight. My eight and ten year old boys loved all the simulators and displays they were about to touch and sit inside.

This not a huge museum, but touches on the history of flight with examples of early aircraft. There a nice section on helicopters. There are some interactive exhibits and videos. There are other interactive activities that have an added cost.

This museum has many items with which to listen, see, and try. It is interactive and has friendly helpful staff. We learned some new things during our 1 hour and 45 minute stay. We purchased some flying machines to play with at home. If you come prior to 4pm you can have your name printed in 3D. A place to learn a lot of information and have fun. I recommend.
