If you need to attend a convention at the San Jose Convention Center, this hotel is a good option if the surrounding hotels are booked.

It's not as high end as the nearby Fairmont or Westin -- as expected -- but the location is right next to the Fairmont which has a nice small mall-like area with a McCormick and Schmidt seafood Restraunt as well as a great Japanese store called Muji.

There is a movie theatre 2 blocks away that plays great award winning independent films ( Sundance awards etc ... ) and the interior seats are very nice despite the outside looking a bit run down.

The front desk staff are very polite and efficient. Sometimes a bit too speedy. If they slowed it down a little it would project a slightly higher end experience.

The interior of the hotel is above average for this level of hotel. And since I had a guest with me, I booked a room with 2 beds which was very, very spacious. I hear that they don't have many rooms with 2 beds.

Beware however, that if your room faces the side of the train tracks, you can hear the train's bell which is a bit annoying.

The biggest area of improvement that's needed is the bed. This hotel puts some type of plastic like mat between the top sheet and the mattress which is very annoying because it causes the top sheet to not lie flat. And this can be uncomfortable. Strange choice. Get rid of that asap!

Hi, thanks for your review!

We're gratified that you found the hotel to be generally suitable and comfortable, yet are disappointed that our bed was not to your liking.

We use a water resistant mattress pad, which works to keep our mattresses in "like new" condition; I'm sorry that you found this uncomfortable - should your plans return you to the area, we do hope that you'll consider once again making us your choice. (The mattress pad can be easily removed upon request).

We look forward to welcoming you back.

Thanks again,

Randy Zimmerman, General Manager

This is a nice hotel conveniently located if you need to be in downtown San Jose. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. All of the amenities were standard, but quality. I was there for a concert at the Civic, but good restaurants and bars were close by. About four blocks down the neighborhood starts to get a little sketchy but San Jose has done a lot to improve downtown in the past 20 years and the circle of areas that are exploration worthy gets wider. I would definitely stay there again.

Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and nice size for downtown hotel. In and out parking was a benefit. Close access to downtown area and SJSU. NOTE: Hallway carpet needs replacing or cleaning (3rd floor). Did not match caliber of lobby & sleeping room.

Hi:

Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you found our hotel convenient and pleasant. It is disappointing that our hallway carpeting missed the mark, however; it's scheduled for replacement soon.

If your travel plans return you to San Jose, we look forward to hosting you again.

Thanks again,
Randy Zimmerman,
General Manager

I loved this place, clean and nice. The staff were super friendly. The restaurant becomes a lounge at night looked super fun. But I had concert tickets already. Will be staying next month for a concert.

The Four Points by Sheraton is a quiet little hotel Ideally located in the middle of San Jose Downtown. The room is small, but comfortable. Its got a well stocked bar and above all courteous and helpful staff.

Room Tip: Right in the middle of San Jose Downtown
