We had a night in SLO and picked the Quality Suites as the place to rest our heads and SO glad we did! We enjoyed the Spanish feel of the hotelexterior and courtyard where the pool was which gave a good first impression of the hotel. Upon check in, the staff were friendly and welcoming and we were given a map of the hotel to show us where our room was. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room had a separate living room with second tv, fridge, sink and sofa in. The bed was VERY comfortable, huge and dreamy and the whole room (and hotel) felt very clean. We even had a small balcony which was very nice. Free plentiful parking and complimentary BBQ in the evening and breakfast was amazing. Being vegan and usually not having an option, it was exciting to see they had vegan burgers for the BBQ and along with the regular continental style breakfast, they have a kitchen that makes hot food to order. The staff there were wonderful and having a little chat with them, they made us vegan breakfast burritos! Even though we only stayed one night, the experience was good and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting a decent night in SLO. A short drive and you are in the town centre (which we really enjoyed)

It was a nice enough place - clean, welcoming public areas around the pool and courtyard. But we were woken up in the middle of the night by an intermittently beeping smoke detector (like a low battery noise, not a constant alarm). We didn't want to deal with it ourselves in case we made it worse, so we called the front desk. They said they'd send someone to come get it now, and then replace it in the morning. After about 5 minutes a guy from maintenance arrived, who hadn't removed one before, but managed to get it off the ceiling and disconnect it from the wires. No one came by in the morning, so I mentioned it when we checked out the next day so they'd know they had a room without a smoke detector. At no point did anyone offer even a bland "sorry for the inconvenience." It was like it was a Tuesday afternoon and I'd asked for a towel. Do smoke detectors go off there every night? I found it weird, and because of the experience we probably won't stay there again when we're back in town.

Room tip: Third (top) floor if you can get it, our upstairs neighbors woke us up pretty early.

Traveling down the PCH from San Francisco, we stumbled upon this quaint spot. So glad we found this beautiful hotel with a pool, open air courtyard, manager drink specials and BBQ.
Our room was spacious clean and fresh, breakfast was a bonus. Made to order with so many choices. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

Room tip: Happy hour ended 730pm

We stayed here for one night as a family of 4 on our travels up the coast. It is a fabulous little hotel with clean, great sized comfortable rooms.

They have a pool to cool off in & free beer & wine 5.30-7.30. They also offer a bbq during these times at really reasonable prices.

The breakfast was great with lots of hot choices too. We were all sorry to leave.
