When you see this amazing paved trail, you won’t believe it’s minutes from the freeway, the downtowns of several cities and thousands of homes. But whether you start from the north in Millbrae or the south in San Mateo, Sawyer Camp Trial is an absolute jewel. Skirting the pristine Crystal Springs Reservoir and surrounded on both sides by lush and vibrant vegetation and trees, walking, running or biking this trail is a treat for all senses. If you’ve been, you know. And if you haven’t, quite simply you will not believe it

I walk this trail at least once a week, sometimes more. There are two entrances but the southern end is more popular. No matter which season of the year you go, the Crystal Springs Lake is beautiful!
If you get lucky you’ll come across deer-there were 13 the other day!

Feel the energy of folks running or walking. Enjoy the beauty of the greenery, water and wildlife. Catch up with a friend or just find time to focus on you... doing something that is good for you in so many ways.

A few of us rode the trail on our way from South SF to Fremont. This has hands down the best part of the ride. A well maintained trail that is used by walkers, runners, and cyclists. You can hardly tell you are 5 min from the city. Beautiful views. The trail is approximately 6 miles OW.

We loved this beautiful trail. However, we went in the afternoon on a week day in winter so it wasn't crowded at all. Numerous viewpoints make it even better. If you are a fast cyclist, I would ride elsewhere. This trail is full of pedestrians and is truly multi use. Gorgeous, peaceful place. Would visit again.
