We were on a west coast trip and stayed 3 nights at Milo. It was our first visit to Santa Barbara.
I think from reading the reviews, price paid and photos I expected more.
The staff here are super friendly and helpful when needed. Dinner recommendations were great. The location is excellent.
Points to improve on: the decor of our room was a little tired and dated. The premium WiFi service you pay for as part of the resort fee was definitely not premium. It was intermittent and slow. The breakfast was okay. Some days clearing up of the tables was very slow so it felt messy. Laundry service - the info in the room stated in by 9am back by 7pm next day. When we tried to use this we were told that it takes 2–3 day’s minimum and front desk staff did not seem to know much about the info in the room even though we showed them the form we had completed, so we just left it as we were leaving soon and items would not be back in time.
It’s a 2 storey motel type property and we were on upper floor. At check in there was no explanation of this the fact there’s no lift and no offer of help with our large suitcases. This was disappointing.
The TV in our room only had one channel - Disney!
Id definitely revisit SB however I think I’d try another hotel next time.

We came here for our honeymoon. Coco & Ramin helped us check in and both were so friendly! Coco made sure to offer us wine and Ramin was very friendly and gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne !!

Upon arrival at Hotel Milo, it is clear that all you are paying for is the location of the hotel. It is right at the sea front and close to the boardwalk and the Main Street in Santa Barbara. Apart from that though, the hotel is mediocre.
The front facade looks pretty, a Mediterranean feel about the place but it is essentially a dolled up motel. Rooms are partly refurbished. The bathroom, windows and doors could all do with being replaced. The hotel had NO AIRCON since last year but that is not reflected in the price. It was also not mentioned anywhere. A fan was provided.
Be aware of hidden charges, the hotel charges an ‘amenities fee’ of $25 per night which they claim is for the toiletries in the hotel room, breakfast, internet and wine tasting that is from 4-6 daily.
The breakfast was beyond poor, the options were oatmeal, a selection of muffins and bread, yogurts, cold boiled eggs, a very small fruit selection and one type of salami and cheese. It was completely self service. The staff also had a tip jar out though, even though they didn’t so much as pour a cup of coffee or show us to our seat.
I ordered a bottle of wine one evening to drink on the veranda, a $35 bottle that the staff tried to charge $50 for.
Only parking available is Valet at a cost of $30. We had to wait about 10 mins for the car after calling it from the room before we checked out.
I was thoroughly disappointed with my stay and would not recommend the hotel as it is not value for money. One night, with all the additional charges cost us almost $400. The hotel also reserved the full cost on my credit card and then charged an additional $400 rather than confirming the first charge which was a pain.
