This Inn is a very beautiful, tastefully appointed, ocean front facility, a classic Spanish Colonial structure with thoughtful architectural details.
It is not a pretentious Inn, yet very sophisticated and beautiful. They won us over instantly upon check in with a surprise upgrade to a penthouse suite and it was suitable for royalty! Beautiful and spacious, with a luxurious gorgeous large spa type bathroom - marble everything; walls, floors, counters, shower and bathtub surround.
In our suite on the dining table was a centerpiece of 3 living orchids clustered together in an oversized dramatic Oriental porcelain bowl.
It was so indulgent and beautiful it took my breath away.
In front of the bowl was a bottle of champagne, 2 miniature bottles of Pellegrino, and a snack wrapped in cellophane with a hand written card for my husband wishing him well on his celebration.
We were beyond grateful and enjoyed our stay immensely!
The penthouse suite has a fabulous balcony with charming awnings with a beautiful
vista. We had a difficult time pulling ourselves away to enjoy the rest of Santa Barbara and the great outdoors because the atmosphere and view was so wonderful.
Needless to say, Santa Barbara Inn is one of our new favorite places!

Room Tip: You will be happy with any of the ocean view rooms

What an amazing property!! Beautiful views of the ocean and the pier. Perfect location to walk to everything. Most importantly the service was impeccable! Everyone anticipated our needs and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Highly recommend this property for your next stay. I will definitely be back!

My review of the Santa Barbara Inn is a little unusual. We did not stay here but as a result of a mix-up on our part, we thought we were spending the weekend at this beautiful property. Suitcases in hand, we approached the front desk to check in. Ashley, very politely told us she could not find our reservation and asked Maria the reservations manager for help as we insisted that we had a 2 night reservation for 3 rooms. We were here to celebrate a milestone birthday with our family and our hearts were sinking as we frantically looked for our confirmation letter and could not find one anywhere. Maria, saw that we were confused and upset. She immediately took over by calling other hotels with similar names to see if she could locate the reservation. She personally spoke to other managers and wasn't going to desert us until we had a place to stay. Puzzle solved as we found we were at another place not far away but we are certain that our next visit to Santa Barbara will be at the Santa Barbara Inn if Maria is any indication of the service they extend.

This place popped from beginning to end. Service was excellent, entry to and from was as easy as it gets. Food was fine as were the drinks. Location is directly across the street from the ocean and at the head of the boardwalk that will take you to the Santa Barbara Pier. Excellent place to call home for a few days.

Room Tip: Get a beach view

What a find this was for my wife and I on a romantic getaway. Wonderful large ocean view room overlooking the pool and dining patio. The quietest hotel we gave stayed at for a long time and it’s right on the beach road. The rooms must be super noise insulated as we heard nothing in our huge luxurious bed. Did I mention the staff? From the parking lot guys to the front desk and bar they are so focused on making the customer number 1.
Really nice fresh continental breakfast included and we sat outside and enjoyed the view. Lovely intimate pool and spa with drink service and loungers with fluffy towels. We will certainly be back soon.
