OK, I've read a few of the other reviews, and perhaps because I live in LA and grew up in NYC, I have little tolerance for the ordinary posing as exceptional for some reason or another (it looks out on an ocean, it looks out on a mountain, it is deep in the woods, etc.). Walk in this place and the first thing you notice is the ATM machine. This means cash only. Really? Why? It may be good for the owners, but I have little doubt that this approach means smaller tips for the waiters. Are you going to change a $20 bill so you can give the waiter a full 18% or are you just going to say screw it, and give the waiter 14%?
The waiters are nice enough, the food substantial, and the prices reasonable, but there is absolutely nothing special about all of it. Then add in that they put us close to the side door which, every time it opened in 40 degree weather, a blast of cold air hit us. Fortunately, I noticed a table clear that was mid-restaurant, so I asked to move us. But it was still cold. And then I looked around and noticed that EVERYONE was wearing jackets. In fact, it wasn't clear that this place had heat. So, does cold in winter mean hot in summer, as in no a/c? I'd have to go back to find out, but I probably won't.
Then, there's the parking lot. When I saw the first car slowly BACK OUT into a rather busy street, I thought that particular driver was doing something unusual. Wrong I was. Everyone HAD to back out in order to get out. Fortunately for me, I had accidentally driven a bit past the restaurant so I had to park on the street to keep things simple. If you go here, I'd recommend you park on the street, too, since it's not so easy backing out through a very small parking lot onto a busy street.
OK, what else? I suspect most people eat at Linda's Seabreeze because when I checked through Trip Advisor there weren't too many restaurants open that make full hot breakfasts. I'll give the place that much. And the food isn't poison or anything. So, you may end up going here as well. Rubric: get here early, be sure to park on the street, don't let them sit you near the doors, and take plenty of singles so that you don't have to short-change the waiter.
