“Plethora of fresh pasta in a casual unaffected setting”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

This restaurant is appropriately noted for its freshly prepared pasta. There must be twelve kinds of fresh pasta, including vegetarian/vegan/gluten free varieties. They are all fresh, light, and tasty. We've been here half a dozen times, however, and I'm still trying to find "my dish." You can add a number of fresh ingredients -- again more than anyone can reasonably try. The food is very reasonably priced, the servers are all exceptionally friendly, the wine line is short but perfect for this kind of restaurant; and they can make a small romantic dinner work just as well as a big group with kids. Highly recommended.

The only things I think they could improve is (1) the bread, which lacks flavor and depth yet surprisingly seems freshly made; and (2) the addition of a few standbys in the appetizer list, like a pizza. But I overall love this place and highly recommend it.

“It's a great neighborhood Trattoria”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

Had dinner here with friends and family in February 2012. I feel lucky since we arrived early around 6pm on a Saturday, and the wait was about only 20 minutes for a party of 8.
The wait staff is friendly, even under the pressure of the crowds. The food is terrific: savory dishes with large portions. Its easy to split many of the dishes. The specials are more expensive, but worth the unique adventure. The wine list is limited, but not expensive, easily pairing with their food, and a very good value. I will return on my next visit to Santa Monica!

“Friendly neighborhood type restaurant...get here early because it gets busy!”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

Rack 'em, pack 'em, stack 'em. Okay aside from the line from Die Hard, this eatery is pretty simple food. Simple, reliable and straightforward. Gets really crowded, and there's really only outside seats for waiting. Cheap wine. Really cheap wine. I think the house wine is about $4 a glass! Pastas are terrific, salads are great, service is prompt. The only thing preventing a 5 star is the ambience is just what it is...a neightborhood stomp. A bit loud, a bit crowded, but that's what you come in for.

“Family style for a large group”
Reviewed 4 February 2012

They accommodated a large group of 15 people. We ate family style. The food was great with good service. The price was very reasonable and the family style made it easy to allow everyone in the group to pay the same price for the food and wine.
