This hotel smells like nursing home, strong, pine sol odor, moist shampoo carpets 6 pm, on friday, stupid, room stank, no way, as a dog I have never been put in a nastier suite than the fountain grove.in. refused their nasty substandard room , don't stay here , run like the wind, manager needs to shave and brush teeth, they overbooked for golf tournament and with all the celebrity's standing aroumd, tried to put me in broom closet for room
So what I'm saying is if u ain't somebody they will treat you like you and your business is unimportant to them. Never mind the next night it burned down, in historic santa rosa fire, oh well thanks fer nothing pal.

Our two night stay at the Fountain grove inn was very pleasant mostly due to its staff. The hotel is an older building with its charms and drawbacks. The lay out of the building is attractive and it is a low rise. It has a decent restaurant where we had both dinner and breakfast. But the room did not have a good ventilation system. You can choose to use the fan which is noisy and doesn't do much to bring in fresh air or provide adequate circulation. One cannot open windows either. Making up for this drawback is the staff. They are professional and go out of their way to help you. Travis was generous with his time and offered us valuable information. Chris, the concierge, was most knowledgeable about Sonoma and Napa. Thank you for recommending to visit the Ross estate art gallery! A beautiful collection in a gorgeous setting. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel thanks to its great staff. Well done!

We stayed for three nights over a weekend. The concierge greeted me at the registration desk and was very friendly, informing me of the wine tasting that was scheduled that evening from 5:30-7 (complimentary and in the lobby) and giving me free breakfast buffet tickets for one of our mornings. Our room was close to the lobby but relatively quiet (caution: room 120 seems to be right next to one of the staff closets - we could hear pails rattling in the early morning hours) for the most part. There is an excellent restaurant just across the parking lot - Equus, a steakhouse - and we enjoyed a breakfast and a dinner there (see review for Equus). The hot tub is outside and we made good use of it on two nights. Would stay here again - quite nice and a very helpful staff.

3* Fountaingrove Inn
Santa Rosa (north of downtown)
It must have been very nice fifty years ago; dated
Friendly reception desk
Minimalist gym: 2 treadmills, 1elliptical, free weights with dangerous weight rack, tv
Rooms are strangely configured, nice TV, but clean and well-maintained, have mini-frig, Keurig coffee maker
Free wifi
No elevator to second floor! Can’t believe it is ADA compliant.
Has Equus Restaurant steak house that has Happy Hour M-F 3:30 – 6:30

Front desk, Chris was AMAZING! So personal and so professional; always a smile. Nikia was super helpful and took care of us right away. At the bar, Eric was the bomb! Such an amazing personality; super sharp and took care of us real well. He reminded us of Diana Ross' son, Evan Ross . . . totally looks like him. Such a nice young man! Sean at the restaurant was very courteous and took amazing care of us. Professional and courteous. My overall KUDOS goes to the ladies in housekeeping and the gentleman who takes care of the gym. What an amazing, friendly staff. Overall experience: A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
