Description: Located across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, our third restaurant has been a San Diego North County favorite since it opened in 1981. This bustling restaurant encourages friendly and convivial dining, with the help of a comfortable oyster bar and cozy cocktail bar and lounge, and front-and-center retail market, widely known by those seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish. We also offer a private room suitable for a large party gathering.

Handcrafted cocktail made with care and accuracy to produce a fine quality cocktail!
Oysters to start were different than what we are use but not a bad difference! King Crab was very good, and at $45.00 for a pound dinner we felt a very good value. Summer slaw was nice seasonal salad, jasmine rice tasty!
The unexpected surprise for us was dessert, being from Florida we are always skeptical when a place outside of Florida offers key lime pie, no disappointment here! Just the right amount of sweet and tart, with a generous pillow of fresh whip cream and a buttery graham cracker crust!! YUMMY!
Decaffenated cappuchino with the richest steamed milk I have ever had!!

This place is the winners circle for spot to go after a day at the races!

Found this place more fast food to be honest - food was average and place was busy and waitress nice but over-stretched - our appetisers for four came in two lots of two and my son had finished his before ours came. Food OK - but swordfish skewers seemed exactly like the ones I buy from Costco's and the teriyaki sauce straight from a jar. Wouldn't go again - is handy for the racecourse, but there are IMO better places nearby.

Had lunch with friends here on a Tuesday. We made a lunch reservation but didn't really need it. I went specifically for the panko fried calamari. With it I had the cole slaw & au gratin potatoes. The calamari steak was plentiful and good but a tad thick for my taste. I would have liked a thinner slice. I think the panko breading would been tastier & the calamari itself would have cooked up better. It seemed ever so slightly underdone to me. The cole slaw required salt & pepper to render flavor, but the au gratin potatoes were very good.

As noted, the location of this Fish Market is very convenient to I-5, and just a bit eastbound on Via de la Valle from Hwy 101. The staff were wonderful, friendly & accomodating, the food was good, & the portions were large. There is a fresh fish market within the restaurant as well, should that be of interest.

Located across from the fairgrounds exit, we stopped in after the fair to have a meal before leaving. We had the Fish and Chips, and the Black Cod grilled fish dinner. Both were very good, with the fish and chips crisp and moist, and the Black Cod cooked to perfection. The coleslaw is very good. We learned this restaurant is part of the same group that owns the Fish Company in San Diego by the U.S.S. Midway., which is also one of our favorites in San Diego.
