Review of Tecopa Bistro

Tecopa Bistro
Ranked #3 of 6 Restaurants in Tecopa
Price range: US$9 - US$30
Description: The Tecopa Bistro is the latest interpretation of a Dinning location that has been continuously operated as a restaurant, eatery and Bistro for more than 25 years. The Daily operations and Chef duties are split between two chefs and Guest Chefs from around the world. We try to be fresh and creative with our dinner offerings Of house made culinary delights such as warm garlic and citrus olives, Hand crafted dressings, several varieties of hand made hummus, many variations of pesto, wild caught salmon, bean dishes inspired from around the world and fresh offerings straight from our garden, but also find a place on our menu for more standard lunch fare such as sandwiches, burgers, fries, pasta and Hand crafted Pizzas from our 800 degree ovens. We strive to be different and surprising as well as being inviting. On our door there is a sticker that was placed by our very much loved previous chef John that says "love people and feed them tasty food" we very purposely left that sticker even after renovation because we believe that to be a worthy goal. No matter what else can or will be said of this place and the people who work here the one true statement is that we make every dish with love and appreciation in our hearts. Thank you to all that have dined with us before and we look forward to serving new patrons and friends. Cheers

Stopped by for a well prepared dinner. Salads were huge and very fresh. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We had brought our own bottle of wine and it wasn’t a problem. There was music on the stage outside which just added to the magic atmosphere that seems to surround Tecopa.

This place seemed to have random hours but one could always spot the open sign. I had dinner there one night. The salad was amazingly fresh - carrots, cherry tomatoes, rings of red bell peppers, various greens, tangy dressing. My burger (patty melt) was just a burger and too much bread. The many flavors of gelato and sherbet was surprising and delicious. I had red velvet gelato.
Some of the unique features include the gelato, a dessert that has a scorpion in it and I was told rattlesnake would soon be on the menu. There is no liquor here but people brought in some wine.
On Wednesdays, a young man makes delicious pizza and sells that along with gelato. That's it, pizza and gelato.

Everyone who works there is pleasant and talkative. There are a few rocking chairs outside where I sat and enjoyed my gelato and a lovely breeze.

Food and atmosphere are always top notch! Definitely a great way to end a very relaxing trip to the hot springs.

I always relied on the Bistro to provide me with well made, tasty, big serving comfort food. You'd walk in the door and immediate feel like family. Well that is all done now with the Bistro under new management.
Professional, warm homey feelinhg are both gone.
For some reason they installed this huge ice cream freezer right when you come in the door .. with little choice of flavors .. it easily takes up about 1/6 of the table space.
I just did not feel comfortable as we were treated like tourist who are just passing thru .. well they now have 2 other restaurnats in Tecopa where I now eat all my meals. So sad!!

Great food and gelato here! The place is quirky with different crafts for sale and the staff was very nice. Also, make sure to check out the scorpion dish. It's a real "treat". =)
