I think this place has some of the best Chinese food in the area. The menu is very varied and cooked the way you request re level of spiciness. The vegetable options are my favorite, they are crunchy, full of flavor and plentiful. I do enjoy a chicken curry very spicy. The container serves 3 very healthy portions which for $12 is a steal. Green beans have great seasoning. Service is always friendly. I interrupted their dinner and was still greeted with a smile and offered water while I waited. I think we have made this our go to place for Chinese food.

Fantastic Authentic Chinese food! If you want American Chinese food, they have that too, but why? Their ingredients are fresh and the prices are reasonable. We are so happy we can actually get great chinese food in Temecula! We LOVE eating at China Chef and HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this place if you want great chinese food!

In our constant search for new, and good Chinese restaurants, we were very happy to stop at China Chef, after receiving a notification from Yelp about this relatively new place in the area of the Promenade Mall in Temecula CA.
We chose lunch time for the main reason that we did not want to take the chance to order a la carte, and pay more money to find out if it was of decent quality.
The lunch menu it was, and the dishes were.
Imperial Shrimp, $8.99. Came with very nice plump shrimp with vegetables al dente, well made steamed rice, and a sad egg roll, that lacked that little something it requires for this inexpensive creation to elevate itself to the ranks of the best. Never the less, the generous amount of shrimp, and the freshness of the vegetables, made a lovely lady in our group of three very satisfied. 4 Stars.
Sautéed Fish with Vegetables, $8.99. Plenty of mild fish, did not ask about its lineage, but very easy to like. This time served with the optional fried rice, which was easy to finish, and the average at best egg roll mentioned above. Vegetables cooked just right. 4 Stars.
Garlic Shrimp, $8.99. With a delicate reddish and light sauce, with a hint of sweet and spice, plenty of plump medium sized shrimp, more of their lunch special fried rice, and freshly cooked vegetables.
The sad egg roll again, but no complaints here. 4 Stars.
All comensales (Spanish for all eaters at the table), also received the optional Egg Flower soup with the lunch special. The other option being their Hot and Sour soup. We all liked their version, with just the right amount of ingredients needed, flavorful, and very crucial for us, nice and hot. 4 Stars.
Two respectable looking Chefs of Chinese descent, added to the overall good impression in the open kitchen. Our host/server, a very personable and efficient individual, did a good job. 4 Stars.
Water tasted fine, and the total was $29 without gratuity, which we dispensed happily for a fine visit. Merits a second visit to investigate the Peking Duck, among other seemingly delectable offerings. The more competition the merrier when it comes to any kind of cuisine, and China Chef did not disappoint. 4 Stars.
