Stayed here with my wife and 2.5 year old in August 2016, we'd been travelling for 2 months, so this was our final 5 days stay before our flight back to Australia. I reviewed just about every hotel in West Hollywood, and so glad we chose this one. While other hotels might have a little more glitz and glamour, this one had everything that we needed, and more. We spent most days by the pool, had a room at the rear of the main pool area, access to private lounge via sliding doors from room, made it so much more enjoyable. I believe we were upgraded to this room, highly recommend. My daughters was given a kids pack, with rock star drink bottle, and a baby suit, too small for her, however thoughtful, the maids also washed her favorite dog doll, little things like this make the stay special. The vibe of the hotel is rock star-ish, with pool area being traditional LA, many locals seem to come in for a drink, bands playing on the hotel grounds, and great location to walk down to Melrose Avenue for shopping or cafe's should this be what you like. Oh yes, the hotel provides passes to the gym next door, this was sensational, since this gym is 5 star, and even had a babysitting club for our daughter while my wife and I worked out. I'd stay here again so obviously recommend to everyone, especially those with families.

It’s where you stay when you need to slip in and out of town, low profile, avoid the fans and put down a few collaborative tracks for your next release and plan the tour - either really or in your imagination. Beautiful restaurant and spacious comfortable room.

We stayed a couple of nights in this iconic hotel associated with the music industry.? It has a lovely vibe and very helpful staff. Although it is just off the Strip, you would hardly know it is there with all its greenery and plants. A friend joined us for a lovely dinner one evening. The halibut was really tasty! Our suite of bedroom, bathroom and separate lounge was very relaxing and comfortable after a long flight. The only downside was that they charge for the internet. When are all hotels going to realise that consumers see this as a normal free service these days! Still, it was a very nice stay. Thanks

This would be a 4 or 5 star review if this hotel didn't charge $700-800/night and up for their rooms. First the good. Its a lovely oasis of verdant tranquility with their gardens just off the sunset strip. The beds are comfortable and rooms spacious- albeit outdated.

The bad. If you're here for business, good luck. Not only do they charge $12 for internet each day but the internet is horrible. Could barely get work done. Second, the room designs are funky. Closing and opening the bathroom door is nearly impossible with where they've placed the hangars for robes. Third, I get this is Hollywood but the over inflated sense of importance this place exudes is gross. We called trying to find out information about a reservation our company made and were given a lecture about how many celebrities stay there before helping us out.

Try the Sunset Tower up the street. Much better and cheaper.

It was a birthday week in LA, a chance to see friends, visit the beach, go to some museums, eat well, and chill - and there could not be a more chill hotel imaginable than the Sunset Marquis. This was like the exquisite little European oasis of your dreams, yet it’s one block off the Sunset Strip! The place is quiet and unfussy; our 2-room suite with a small terrace overlooking the pool was so comfortable we didn’t want to leave; service was friendly but also completely buttoned-up. There are many pretty outdoor books to sit in. All the preliminary birthday arrangements (flowers, champagne) were taken care of, hard-to-get restaurant reservations were gotten, they even reserved a table for us right by their restaurant TV to watch the Oscars. I’ve never had a better hotel experience.
