My favorite summer retreat! We've been coming up for 15 years - at least three times a summer with friends and family. The rooms are immaculate, the owners are wonderful. Walking out to the backyard on the river is breathtaking and picturesque!
We walk to fabulous restaurants - and shop in the daytime.
World class fly fishing and windsurf up at Ruedi Reservoir. Charming town!
This is simply my favorite getaway!

Very nicely maintained motel with most of the rooms facing the Flying Pan river. You need to make sure yours is one of these rooms as the other rooms are not exciting.
Room is basic, but updated to include lots of electrical steps. Wifi, included, is not bad. Staff is a little thin so the check-in time of 3pm is usually required.

Room tip: Need to have room facing the river - otherwise don't bother

Location near Roaring Fork River, can walk throughout historic town. Older double level motel. Alpine connected design. Quiet. Service excellent. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Ceiling fan. Convenient Riverside Grill across parking area beside stream.

Room tip: Other building has river view.

My family stayed there overnight on our way to backpacking in the the high country. The room was older, but clean giving a great value for the location. There was a wonderful fly shop and bar/restaurant right across the parking lot. You could walk to restaurants for breakfast or eat at the motel. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was our second stay at the Aspenalt Lodge. The place is not fancy, but it's clean and a great alternative to pricey Aspen/Snowmass properties. The property has several buildings, but the one on the Frying Pan River is the choicest. Town is quite quaint and has several very good restaurants and two awesome fly shops. We fished the Frying Pan in the morning and made it to a recital in Aspen in the afternoon--it's only a 20 minute drive. It's got a 1950's motel vibe, which is kind of cool. Will definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Try for Building A; it's right on the Frying Pan River
