Located in the Beaver Creek Village makes access to the slopes and dining very easy by using the free village shuttle service which runs every 15 minutes. The one down side is that during heavy snow fall the shuttle may not run leaving you with only the property's restaurant as dining option and not much option for entertainment.
We had a 2 queen beds room which was very spacious, clean, nicely furnished and had huge windows allowing us to take in the beautiful snow covered mountain view.
Beds and pillows were very comfortable, white comforters and sheets felt crisp and clean.
There is a mini fridge, safe, flat panel TV with cable and complimentary wifi. Small desk area is well lit and next to a large lounge chair.
Bathroom is clean and spacious as well. Toiletries are basic but nice and towels are plenty and fluffy.
2 very important things missing: Microwave and Coffee Maker.
The hotel provides morning coffee and tea in each floor but you have to go out of the room to get it therefore have to get ready for the day before coffee.

Ski Rental located inside the hotel made it very easy to arrange for our equipment and the staff was excellent every day; nformative, pleasant and ready to help with your boots. Also a shoe/boot drying room helps you walk into nice, dry and toasty boots.

The staff at The Pines is very pleasant, ready to help make your stay comfortable.

Valet is very fast and one of the most reasonable rates in the village as it is included in the resort fee. We liked to tip the valet staff as they were always quick and gave us excellent recommendations for places to dine, shop and entertainment as well as helping with our skis out of the shuttle. One evening we took our car out during a snow storm and got stuck on the road trying to get back. These guys ran to our rescue and got us back safe and dry.

Restaurant: The one in property dining option is delicious yet quality is proportional to price which makes very high as an every day/every meal option. This is no issue most days but as I said, if you get caught here for a day or two, this would be your only option. We bought fruit and snacks at a store in Avon just in case.
Breakfast after tax and gratuity was around $32 per person and dinner with a glass of wine or cocktail around $60.

Outdoors areas: Small and limited outdoor space includes a heated pool and Jacuzzi.

Ski in/out: We didn't use the trail leading to the ski area but the shuttle as some other guests advice against it. One thing worth knowing is that this is not next to the gondola or lift. It has very easy access through the shuttle but I wouldn't call it ski in/out.

Lobby is EXTREMELY cold all the time which makes it rather unpleasant to sit there without a winter coat on.

We were trying to extend our stay a few more days and I was directed to call the reservation agent over the phone which in turn sent us back to the front desk. Also rates were slightly different over the phone and at property. This issue took a few hours for us to solve which was a bit frustrating as we had already been delayed over in Texas due to weather and were ready to hit the slopes. This, the cold lobby and the lack of microwave/coffee makers were the negatives for us.

This is a very nice property, relaxing, well maintained, well staffed and provides pleasant and fast service. The Pines is perfect to relax and enjoy the slopes at a reasonable price but with many conveniences.

Dear Maria J,

Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to write this review. We are always so glad to receive honest guest feedback and we are very glad to hear that you received such great service from our valet staff and that they were able to assist you in getting your car un-stuck! I see that you commented on not having a coffee maker or microwave in the room, in the future you can simply request these items from the front desk and they will be brought up immediately! We typically don't keep them in the rooms due to the lack of requests for them, but if you need them we are certainly willing to assist in those kind of requests.

I am so sorry to hear about the confusion with pricing for the possibility of extending your stay, we typically don't book reservations on property but in the future you can always call me directly and I can assist with almost all requests, if I am not the correct person to talk to I can certainly make sure I connect you with them!

We know there are a lot of options in the Beaver Creek area and we truly appreciative you choosing the Pines for your vacation. Comments from our guests are an invaluable tool we use to make sure we are providing superior service and surpassing guest expectations in order to truly provide the experience of a lifetime!

On behalf of the entire team, thank you for choosing The Pines Lodge and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to the Pines again soon!

Warm Regards,

Sarah Harland

Stayed at Pines for the past 5 years and always a top-notch experience. Staff is friendly, warm, informed and helpful with any request. Stayed in a superior room king this time and plenty of room. Bed is high quality and comfortable. Towels could be a bit thicker but adequate. Bathroom is right-sized. Morning coffee/tea on each floor is convenient. Even provide complimentary detergent if you want to do laundry. Ski rentals in the hotel. Pines improves in subtle ways each year. Very well-run hotel.

My stay at the pines lodge was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. It is ski in and ski out. After a long day of skiing the concierge (which is free) holds your skis and boots overnight and they warm your boots! The grouse mountain grill located in the hotel is the best food in beaver creek. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxing with live music and a roaring fire place (my only complaint for the whole hotel is that the fire place is gas not wood - which is meant as a compliment). The hotel has a great hot tub and the rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. And the skiing at beaver creek is unbelievable (as good and more manageable than vail).

I will 100% come back to the Pines next time I'm back in the Beave.

From the accommodations to the staff, we have nothing but wonderful things to say about this lovely boutique hotel.
It was very convenient to the slopes, town, pool, hot tub and work out area are perfect. The hotel was very clean and oh those 3:00 chocolate chip cookies! Yum!
Had dinner at the Grouse Mountain Grill (we've been there many times but never stayed at the hotel). Wonderful weekend.

Room tip: We had a beautiful view of the mountain and town.

Dear calmdigger1952,

I am so glad that you enjoyed Beaver Creek and the Pines Lodge. We pride ourselves on being a very quiet boutique hotel and I’m delighted that you enjoyed both our excellent service and quaint decor. We had gotten a "very good" rate for this time of year through Expedia and didn't know what to expect from a standard room, but were absolutely delighted. The room was spacious, had a decent view and was quite comfortable, especially the soft yet firm bed. The heating/cooling system was responsive, and the bathroom vanity was large enough for us to spread out our stuff. Great tub for hot après-ski soaks. We had a hard time determining from the hotel web site what amenities were available in the room and had to call. As it turns out, there is a humidifier (albeit a noisy one), a hairdryer, a bathroom scale (who wants to know, right?) and all the little vanity-top stuff. A very nice touch, common to Rock Resorts, is the filtered water in stylish reusable glass bottles that are refilled twice a day. There is no coffee maker in the room, but a coffee station near the elevators is well stocked with a stout Starbucks standard blend in caf and decaf versions, plus a good variety of teas and infusions. In view of the unpredictable quality of other hotels' in-the-room coffees, this turned out to be quite nice. The ski valet function is simple, but effective: You drop off your skis with the car valets at the hotel entrance and pick them up in the morning near the pool in the back of the property. A short walk gets to you the "skiway," from which you access the Strawberry Park and Centennial lifts. Skiing back in gets exciting for beginners, because of the last steep bit.

Room tip: Room would be quieter without connecting door to next room and if others had kept room doors from slamming. Go for the end of the hallway.
