I spent three nights in a one-bedroom unit at the Lodge in connection with a conference I was attending in Breckenridge. I've been working on a project in Breck this year. Mountain Thunder was the fourth place I stayed. It was by far the best of the four.
The Lodge is really a campus of several buildings. Although it is just a few blocks from the business district, its artful landscaping gives it a feeling of separation. I stayed in Building 5. It's the closest building to the nearby large street, which was just steps away, but it had the feeling of being in a much more rural, forested area.
Check in was fast and efficient - the whole process took perhaps two minutes. Then it was on to the garage, which was under Building 5 - easy to find, easy to enter, with wide spaces that were easy to park in. And it was easy to find the elevator, which can be a problem in some parking garages. Luggage carts were available (although I did not need one).
My unit upstairs was spacious in every respect - living/dining area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The decor was tasteful, not garish. All necessary amenities were provided in both the kitchen and the bathroom. The wireless internet connected quickly and reliably. The wireless speed was sufficient for business purposes. Most important, the unit was really quiet. I slept well all three nights....I spent three nights in a one-bedroom unit at the Lodge in connection with a conference I was attending in Breckenridge. The building has a small fitness room with limited but sufficient equipment. I could see a nice heated pool and hot tub from my balcony, although I did not have time to go there.
Check out was also quick and easy.
I stayed during an off-peak time of year. I don't know what the Lodge would be like during the two peak seasons, but I suspect that it still does pretty well, certainly in comparison to the other three places where I stayed this year. The Lodge will be my first choice for my next stay.More
