What a pathetic mess this place is! We went in at 9pm. There was one group seated in the corner, eating. It was dead in there. Finally someone came for our drink order. Then we waited a good 20 minutes while several other tables were seated and their orders taken. We finally asked the manager when WE could order. A couple of minutes later, the waitress came over, making excuses, but took our order. Then we waited 30 minutes for our order to arrive - three chicken fried steak and egg breakfasts. One was missing the hashbrowns. One was missing toast. Then we had to take our drink glasses to the kitchen door ourselves to ask for refills. When we finally finished an hour-and-a-half after arriving, we were given the wrong check -- one with kids' meals -- but we had no kids at our table.
When we went to pay, we had to wait 10 minutes or so for a cashier, as did the gentleman in front of us. When I relayed what our experience had been like, she started making excuses like the other waitress and manager.
I worked in the restaurant industry for years and if any customer had such an aweful experience, we would take something off the bill, offer free dessert(s) or a coupon for their next visit. SOMEthing! Neither one of these servers nor the manager offered even a sincere apology or tried to compensate us for all their errors in any way whatsoever. Just lame excuses.
To sum up, this is not the first time I have visited this Village Inn. The other two times were a mess, too, but since that was a couple of years ago, my sister convinced me to give them another shot. I did and nothing has changed. Disaster zone!! So-- my advice? IHOP is right down the road. GO TO IHOP!!

what a joke, july 1st. 2017 -we stopped for afternoon lunch, the little girls, called waitress, had no clue what to do, much less the 50 year old manager. no one new to refill drinks, we ordered a pic/ food menu. it involved texas size toast, brought us morning biscuits that crumbled at the touch. when we asked what was advertised, they looked puzzled, we actually wanted what the menu said. our main order consisted of items like broccoli, again those space cadets were in dreamland.. tho their bill didn"t skip a beat. WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN,

The waiting line is 20 people deep, so many empty tables, yet the people that have tables are waiting for their food? Very few tables are actually eating and this has been the ordinary here for some reason, perhaps different management? It use to be a great place to go but the past two visits have been this way for us. River Bottom is our new breakfast place in Brighton. Village Inn needs a new manager as several of us turned and left after waiting for nothing. Not once, but twice in the past month. Something is seriously wrong with the Inn in Brighton. Please fix it because the city is missing it. At least those that don't wait.

Waitress took order, than came back after 10 minutes came back to ask which chicken dinner I ordered, Very slow delivery of food from kitchen. Food arrived cold, gravy, mashed potatoes, chicken & turkey. Mentioned to manager he took or food and microwaved it, this was much better. At 2:30 in afterthe noon, and 5 tables occupied, this place needs better management and training. They do give free pie on Wednesday, apparently customers would rather have something free than good service and better prepaired food, Atmosphere better than service and food & service

Nice, clean, good service & good food! Pie is good too! If you go in before 6:00 PM there is an early bird special menu. The chicken stir fry is excellent & comes with free salad or pie!
