The name comes because the water and soda are served in mason jars instead of regular glasses. Specializing in plain American comfort food, the place is friendly and not fancy. Good value for money.

This used to be one of our family's favorites but the last time we visited, the food wasn't as tasty. Seemed like some of it was previously frozen. Haven't given up on it, but will give it one more try.

You see the parking lot and it is usually full. Standard foods for mostly older people .
Menu has not changed for years . Very ho hum.
Service is good food is Ok reasonable priced. Not for the younger crowd..

The Mason Jar is an average eatery at best. Not bad in any way but average in all respects. The food is okay and the prices average. I would never pick this eatery as a first choice. I have eaten her many times after Church with fellow church goers and the it seem to fit the occasion. Again, The Mason Jar is not 4 or 5 star but it is a solid beat for those wanting food at a fair price.

Friendly and attentive servers. Home style food. My grandson had the chicken fried steak, French fries and green beans. The chicken fried steak was not as large as some he has had, the French fries were seasoned well but not home made, but the green beans were fresh and cooked well. I had prime rib, baked potato and salad. The prime rib was tender and juicy. The salad was ok but would have been better with different, local greens and tomatoes. The baked potato was cooked well and they didn't skimp on the toppings.
