Three of us went for a special Happy Hour, and sat at the bar. In the bar area, there are mostly small tables with plenty of seating. There was more space for us to enjoy appetizers at the bar. Two of us ordered Caesar salad, which was excellent. I had extra anchovies on mine because our friend did not want any on her salad. My husband ordered the fingerling potatoes small bite dish which he enjoyed very much. We all shared the stuffed dates which were delicious. There were six stuffed dates, so we each had two to savor. The bartenders were attentive, and service was just right. I ordered their special cocktail of the month-a Sazerac which was good enough to drink a second one. For the year of 2018, they are serving a monthly special cocktail like one that would have been served one hundred years ago at the hotel-in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Broadmoor Hotel. Our friend ordered two different cocktails, both of which were outstanding. My husband ordered two different white wines which were both quite good.
We had arrived around the time they opened (at 5pm), and that was a good idea. The bar got more crowded during the time we were there. We were not rushed, and this was a very pleasant evening for us.
