Three of us went for a special Happy Hour, and sat at the bar. In the bar area, there are mostly small tables with plenty of seating. There was more space for us to enjoy appetizers at the bar. Two of us ordered Caesar salad, which was excellent. I had extra anchovies on mine because our friend did not want any on her salad. My husband ordered the fingerling potatoes small bite dish which he enjoyed very much. We all shared the stuffed dates which were delicious. There were six stuffed dates, so we each had two to savor. The bartenders were attentive, and service was just right. I ordered their special cocktail of the month-a Sazerac which was good enough to drink a second one. For the year of 2018, they are serving a monthly special cocktail like one that would have been served one hundred years ago at the hotel-in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Broadmoor Hotel. Our friend ordered two different cocktails, both of which were outstanding. My husband ordered two different white wines which were both quite good.
We had arrived around the time they opened (at 5pm), and that was a good idea. The bar got more crowded during the time we were there. We were not rushed, and this was a very pleasant evening for us.

We were hungry from all day travel to the Broadmoor from Texas. We looked forward to a lovely dinner at the Summit.

The steaks specials were very, very good, as were the accompanying mashed potatoes and true French frites. The Caesar salad, however, was just OK.

Desserts were delicious. Interesting caramel crime brûlée. Tasty homemade ice creams and good cookies!

A bit expensive but pretty good.

Was a wonderful meal and experience. The menu has a nice range of items to meet your interest and hunger-level as the time The oysters were very fresh and loved that they had multiple options from both the east and the west coast. The roasted sunchoke salad was truly a unique and wonderful experience. The Dover Sole was perfectly prepared to highlight the delicate flavor of the fish. The service was fancy but not fussy. I spilled a drink and not only did they not make me feel bad about it, they didn't charge and refilled without asking?!?! Nice range of dessert options, I had the salted caramel creme brulee, was great, but the brown sugar cookie decorated with all sorts of goodies was even better. My second visit and hope the third comes sooner rather than later.

Angry trout is all you need to know, I have only ordered this when I go along with the muscles for appetizer and creme brulee. I can't make myself order anything else because it's so good. The best trout I have ever had. You wouldn't think that pork belly goes with trout but wow...it's amazing and the presentation is really cool.

Of all the restaurants we visited during a recent stay at The Broadmoor, this was the only one that disappointed. Service was lackluster—certainly not up to the usual high standards at this resort. Our waitress was very disinterested, food was bland, small portions and one dish was not cooked properly (you shouldn’t need to use a steak knife on a cooked artichoke heart.). Try one of the other lovely restaurants on the property instead.
