Description: Established in 2001. Shuga's was created by Alexius Weston as a place to hang out with great food and really inventive cocktails. She had just come from the Northwest area of the country and wanted to create a cool space where she felt comfortable. Initially focusing on Vivace espresso as a delicious mainstay, the place soon morphed into serving amazing paninis, salads, and the out-of-this-world Brazilian Coconut Shrimp Soup. The infusion of Lavender Martinis and cocktails created with care helped launch Shuga's into the forefront of the local Colorado Springs food scene.

I went here on a recommendation from a friend who lives in Denver, and I LOVE this place! It's in an old house close to downtown, the atmosphere is eclectic, staff are all smart and beautiful.... but the food is SPECTACULAR. Brazilian spicy shrimp soup!! Great cocktails, too. Overall awesomeness and an artsy place to hang out.

Thank Melanie C

Went for happy hour - tried the spicy shrimp soup (excellent) and the jalapeno/bacon mac and cheese (OK). The happy hour drink specials were not that special. Still $6 for a VERY small glass of sangria, and the glass is full of ice. Nice outdoor patio, waiter/server did a nice job of staying in touch with us even though we were outside and there was a full bar inside. All in all, a cool place, except for the drink prices.

Fun and funky little place. We stopped for lunch. 8 picky eaters and everyone was happy. They also have interesting cocktails. A nice outdoor patio adds to the ambiance!
