My Mom passed away 2 years ago & my 93 year old Dad moved in with us. We don't get away very often but our son who lives in Boulder offered to take care of my Dad on our 39th Wedding Anniversary. I wanted to find something unique but close to Colo. Springs so I looked at the reviews in Trip Advisor. At first I was s little apprehensive looking at the pictures - a High School with antique furniture - could they pull this off? Since almost all guests had rated it with fives I thought we would give it a try. Winnie & Gary you went well beyond my expectations. This was the best & most luxurious B & B we had ever stayed in. Thank you for saving this historic building & doing it in such a magnificent way. We stayed in the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Room. We loved seeing all the pics - brought back so many memories. The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to leave it for breakfast but glad we did. Breakfast was home made but served like a gourmet meal. We were encouraged to walk around & tour the school. I wish we could have spent more time every room was so interesting & tastefully done. Whenever we can get away, I hope we can return to Carr Manor. We missed meeting Gary but hopefully next time.

We did not stay here, but it was recommended by friends to check it out when in town.....the owner gave us a tour, passed on the history, showed us some rooms and it's worth a quick stop......just a block from town, you can park your car and walk everywhere.....

We'd go back in a second. The BEST part of our stay in Cripple Creek. We are not belittling Cripple Creek but this was wonderful. The host and hostess and so friendly and helpful. You are allowed to visit the other rooms and tour areas that aren't occupied. Every room we saw was great. In an old building like this you'd think you'd find some area that were in a bit of disrepair. Nada. Nowhere. I wish I had this mattress at home. The hotel was extremely quiet - no creaking floors. One block off the main gambling street which is a bit of a hike up the will and will wind you if you aren't used to the altitude.
We are not fans of Bed and Breakfasts but this one made up for all the others we've been in . Breakfast was WONDERFUL - fruit, mimosas, coffee, caramel bread, roasted potatoes and something that wasn't a frittata.
We'd go back in a second. Hint: DO NOT FORGET THE CODE TO THE FRONT DOOR AT MIDNIGHT. (We were afraid to show up for breakfast the next morning)

Room tip: I didn't see a bad room.

We are so glad that you enjoyed yourselves. It was not a problem about the code. It happens all the time.

This was by far the best B&B we have stayed at. It is great shape for an 1896 school house! Very authentic. Cookies and coffee were available all day. The managers were awesome and the food fantastic! A shorty walk everywhere. Only place we'll stay in Cripple Creek!

Room tip: All rooms were fantastic Victorian style- some with common areas.

The building is carefully and tastefully decorated for contemporary needs. The building dates from the 1800's but the rooms and hotel lounge areas are luxuriously decorated. Breakfast is very well presented with home made products. The hosts are wonderful and the location is perfect. This hotel combines top quality amenities that upscale hotel chains offer with the warmth and grandeur of a magnificent building. History of the high school is illustrated on the walls with old photos and descriptions.

We are glad that you appreciated all of the history that we have tried to preserve from this old high school. We have tried to blend the old with what our guests want to experience in modern ammenities. Hope to see you again.
