8 adults and 2 kids 5&6 had a wonderful day. No doubt there is a lot of walking as is expected at a zoo, but there were plenty of places to set down. They have refreshments throughout the park. Our most enjoyment came from the hippo playing with a large ball in his/her pool. It put on a show for about 15 minutes. Not rehearsed, but he had done this many times before it appears. Well worth the time and money. Lots of animals to see.

My teens really enjoyed visiting the zoo. This is a large 80 acre zoo, so be prepared to walk. I’d recommend bringing water and sunscreen with you. The signage is very informative, and there’s a wide variety of animals to be seen.

The Denver Zoo has been improving every year. New exhibits for better animal care and comfort, educational activities for all family members, better pathways, new restaurants and snack bars. The price is very competitive with other zoos the same size and there are a number of discounts you may be eligible for. The zoo is open nearly everyday of the year and there are many seasonal special events to participate in during the day as well as after hours. Young children really enjoy seeing the animals because the animals are more accessible. Keepers make efforts to take care of the animals to keep them happy and healthy and active. That's why the lids like it so much, the animals are happy and active. I like strolling around the exhibits because there are plenty of big shade trees to keep you cool and lots of opportunities to stop in the shade, sit on a bench and watch the people parade. The food options inside the park are varied and reasonably priced for tasty fare. Or pack a picnic. Visit the zoo with the kids and you will certainly have a wonderful visit. Cheers

We are from Louisiana and the first thing we noticed is the awesome weather in this area. The temp got up to 90° the day we visited but it still felt awesome outside. (In my opinion...because I heard people complaining about the heat... I was thinking.. you should feel 90° in LA) Now... back to the Zoo... there was plenty of parking and the line was kinda long, but it moved quickly. Once we got in I noticed how clean everything and everywhere was.. the employees were very nice.. they have a very large variety of animals to see.. (although I don't remember seeing a Lion or any Gorillas) I might have missed them.. if you are visiting the Denver area, I highly recommend stopping by the Zoo... it was a very good time

As most things in Colorado, this place is fantastic. Most zoos are so massive you cant see everything in one day. Nope, this zoo is medium size, so if you come when it opens you have enough time to see everything before it closes. Should take you a good 8 hours with lunch and photos. They have all the major animals, elephants, hippos, and tigers, etc. However they have an immense bird, reptile, and aquarium exhibits. This is where this zoo excels at. If you love fish, birds, and reptiles come here. Also, peacocks everywhere! The males ran around spreading their wings. What an amazing zoo. Well worth the cheap ticket.
