Cute little road side motel. Great price for the area, staff is very friendly. AC and refrigerator worked great (water froze when I took it out the next morning). On the edge of town but well worth the little drive.More

Since there are five of us we had looked at renting a cabin or a house but never found what we liked and were uncomfortable with the cancellation policies. So we appreciate all the previous reviewers that helped us find this awesome updated 1960s motel that made for the perfect week for our stay in Durango. We had one room with a kitchenette (Saved us a fortune not having to eat every meal out) and another that was just a regular room. Both were spotless clean.
There's a beautiful shaded courtyard to sit in. Wi-Fi worked perfectly and it's right in the heart of everything. Husband and wife owners you can tell take such great pride in their place and rightfully so. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. We will be back next summer.
Mark and Family,
Thank you for finding us. It had been a pleasure meeting all of you. It is families like yours that make this all worth while. Please come see us next summer. Thanks for the kind words.
Great place, clean, cute, trip down memory lane. Would stay there again. Very friendly. You can walk to great restaurants. Park right at your door. No hidden fees. If you haven't been Durango and plan to visit or revisit you won't go wrong staying here.
Thank you for staying with us. So glad to hear the good stuff. Please do come back soon.
We recently stayed 5 nights at this location while on vacation in Durango. It is an older style motel, dated furnishings (green/pink bathroom), but clean. Owner is very nice as is the person who cleaned our room daily. Beds comfortable, small refrigerator in room made keeping water cold easier. The most serious down side is that there is simply not enough light in the room -- no overhead, and the desk lamp and bed table lamp were insufficient. Reading difficult as is sorting through one's suitcase to find something. Other down-sides, though not deal-breakers - there is no lighting outside that alerts you after dark that you've arrived, and it is a distance from the actual town so you have to drive everywhere. I'd stay here again given that I spend very little time in the room. But it would be difficult to be confined here inside due to inclement weather.
Dear Jan, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we really appreciate your feedback. We are family owned and operated since 1975 and take great pride in our property. We would have been more than happy to get you a floor lamp, or a different desk lamp if you would have let us know you were in need of different lighting. We are located 1.4 miles from the downtown area. 5th to 10th of Main Ave. is designated Historical. 5th is the other end of Main Ave. where The Durango Silverton Train is located. We are on the Trolley line which runs from 7am to 10pm every 20 minutes .50 for seniors and $1 for all others. Thanks for staying with us, and hope to see you again soon.
Like other reviewers, we found this motel interestingly dated to the '50s--on the exterior, but the room inside was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained. Modern amenities were present as was a kitchenette. Everywhere was evidence of a caring owner, anxious to offer his guests the best, despite the age of his property. Comfortable bed, flat screen TV on the wall, even the faucets and electrical outlets were modernized and all in perfect working order. We will unquestionably stay there again when we return to Durango.
Thank you so much for this review. We are family owned and operated since 1975. We do take pride in our property, and strive to offer the very best to all our guests. Please do come back and stay with us again. Its people like yourself, that make this all worth while.
fair prices, old motel but clean and modern. rags and buckets for your bike, and a small yard to sit and take in Durango, far from town, 32 blocks, makes it quiet, ride in or take the free tram. stayed two nights, will return for sure
Places like this do still exist! And we are happy this one does. The Siesta Motel is family owned and operated since 1975, so we do take great pride in the motel and try and make each and every guest feel welcomed and want you to come back and see us again in the future.
Thank you for your kind comments.
