My huband, myself and another couple had one of the most enjoyable evenings recently at Two Below Zero at the Nordic Center in Frisco, CO. We arrived at 5:00 pm for a sleigh ride (left about 5:30). The sleighs are pulled by 2 draft mules. There were 2 large sleighs with about 10 people in each sleigh. The seats are padded and they give you heavy blankets. The sleigh drivers (ours was Brett) are very knowledgable about the mules, the surrounding mountains and easy to visit with and ask questions. The sleigh ride takes you to dinner in a large heated tent (we didn't know we were in a tent; very comfortable). The chef met us at the door and a musician was playing music. Dinner starts with hot chocolate (and complimentary peppermint schapps), chicken cheese tortilla soup, rolls, baked potato, steamed vegetables, grilled chicken AND steak. Dessert was warm apple cobbler. They also have a full bar (additional charge). After dinner, the musician played some more. There is some audience involvement; only if the audience chooses to. We rode the sleighs back to the building we started at. They did offer to take photos with the teams/mules before the sleigh ride and they were available to view when we got back. No pressure if you didn't want to purchase. The owner of Two Below Zero, John, was there and could not have made us feel more comfortable or welcome. We were there a total of about 2 1/2 hours.
I would highly recommend this activity and Two Below Zero. We felt is was a very good value for the sleigh ride experience, entertainment and great food. The cost was $85/person. We made our reservations 2 days ahead. They will probably be busier during spring break.
