Small cafe with typical American cuisine at the entrance to Guanala Pass. I had a very good French Dip and my wife had a Gouda chicken melt. Both quite good. Salads were fresh. Service fast and friendly.

Thank Mike L

We were seated emeditly. Waitress was attentive, food arrived quickly. Everyone had very different meals and all were satisfied. Portions were large and prices were resonable.

We were sight-seeing in the Georgetown area and spotted this restaurant around lunch time It had great Yelp ratings and we decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed.

Three of our group had the French dip sandwiches while I opted for the mountain meatloaf sandwich. All 4 of us had home fries. The food and the service were both excellent.

The menu also includes a number of vegetarian options.

The building itself dates to the mid 1800's and is quite interesting.

Met a friend for lunch. Our food was awesome, service was great, and they didn't have any problem with us sitting and hanging out for 2 hours.

chicken ala king = sliced mushrooms, diced green pepper, diced pimento and CHICKEN in a white wine cream sauce. This dish has been my "go to" and has always been delicious. Sunday morning 12/31/17 I ordered the half order of chicken ala king. What I received was a waffle smothered in gloppy really thick gravy sans all the ingredients listed above. That being said, if I had ordered waffle and gravy I would have been in heaven -- the flavor of the gravy was exceptional in spite of the texture. The chef did make it right by sending out a small bowl of cooked chicken cubes.

Sorry for the confusion. We are running a special of Chicken & Waffles, as a replacement for the Chicken Ala King (which we are removing from our menu in January). So you did receive the Chicken & Waffles, not the Ala King. We are happy that you loved the gravy and the fresh & natural chicken, but we were not clear on your order. If you would like to give us another try, I will send you a coupon for another meal. Send me your contact information at historichappycooker@aol.com. Mike.
