This motel rocked for our family. My 16 year old and 3 year old had a great time at the pool. Plus it was convenient to have the tram outside in walking distance. When we go back I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The room was nice too. Stayed in a suite which allows privacy for older kids. The free breakfast was above and beyond. We loved making waffles! Staff was great.

The staff at Hotel Glenwood Springs were warm & hositable. They seemed to genuinely care for their guests experience. Hotel Glenwood Springs is family friendly with an indoor and waterpark. Another great feature is the location, being at the foot of the Gondola's.

We spent one night in this hotel while travelling through Utah, Colorado and Arizona. We found the reception staff to be friendly and efficient. While our room was small the bed was very comfortable. Our only criticism would be that the sound proofing is very poor.

The people are very friendly, the location of the Hotel is good. We travelled as a family with children and grandchildren and occupied three rooms.

Rooms: Large and functional - we had a one bedroom suite, a room with two double beds and a king bed room. The sleep quality is good, though the rooms located on the back side of the hotel are adjacent to Interstate highway 70 and are noisy. Cleanliness is lacking with carpet being dirty leaving the bottom of your socks dirty. We did not walk in the room barefoot. There was also some dust and animal hair visible on and around the furniture.

Go Green: The more I thought about it, the more I didn't like it. They give you a $5 voucher to get a discount at a brewery restaurant in exchange for not servicing your room during your stay. This may explain the issues with cleanliness. It appears that they have a very limited housekeeping staff. I only saw two ladies, the same two that were in the breakfast room earlier, cleaning rooms . Giving you these vouchers has nothing to do with going green, but has everything to do with cost savings for the hotel. Going green would apply to changing the linen every three days, like many hotels do. This would save detergent and other potentially harmful effluent emissions. To skip cleaning the rooms, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathrooms, etc has nothing to do with going green but has everything to do with hotel cost savings. The coupon does not cost the hotel much, if anything. In order to use the $5 coupon you have to spend $100 for a family of four. In all fairness, the restaurant where the coupon is valid, is quite good with moderate to high pricing ($10 - $18 for burgers/sandwiches to $24+ for entrees).
Pool Indoor Water Park: This is a nice feature for families with children. For adults there is no swimming area, since everything is part of the water park and the deep end of the pool (4ft) is at the outlet of the big water slide. The kids had a ball. The hot tub was clean and hot. We did have a significant issue on Sunday morning February 22. It appears that too much chlorine was added to the hot tub and/or the pool. Several of us noticed severe itching and skin dryness with two people breaking out with raw spots on the legs and two people's bathing suits were bleached out and discolored, in fact ruining the suits.
Breakfast: Pathetic - stale pastries, bread and bagels. Factory boiled eggs as the only protein and mediocre coffee.
Check-in/Check-out: Check-in was fine and the reservation was correct. Check-out time is 11 AM, which is a bit early. We asked for an extension to Noon. It was granted for only one room, which meant we had to pack up everything and move it to the one remaining room. It appears that this early check-out enables to limit he housekeeping staff.

Overall, the Hotel has potential and is good for families with kids. With the proper attention to details and a commitment to clean rooms and a quality experience, including a decent breakfast things can be much better.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the front of the Hotel. Rear facing rooms are very close to the Interstate Highway and are noisy all night.

Thank you for your review. I am truly sorry to hear of the problems that you encountered during your visit. It is very important to us that our guests approach us with these issues at the time that they occur so that we have the chance to make them right at that time.

Our Going Green Program is there to reward our guests for declining stay-over service that they might normally decline anyway. This does help save on water and energy resources and allows us the extra time for housekeeping to devote in other areas. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our hotel and I will address the issues you encountered back in February with our Housekeeping Supervisor immediately.

I apologize for the irritation that you seemed to have run into after using our pool. Our pool chemicals are checked 3 times per day and I assure you that our pool and hot tub chemicals were at their proper levels during your visit, as I personally had taken the readings each day you were here. It is important that people do rinse off before and after use of any treated pool water so that their skin is prepared before entering, and rinsed when exiting, of any chemicals that might cause irritation after prolonged use.

I do welcome the opportunity to discuss your visit further.

To all future guests: if you encounter something that does not meet your expectations during your visit, please let us know immediately so that we can work on correcting the issue right then and there.

My family and I had a great time at this hotel. Check in was smooth and the front desk staff was very friendly. The overall hotel was very clean. We had a room on the ground floor and it was very spacious with comfortable beds. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great. The best attribute of this hotel is the amazing indoor pool area. My kids had a blast. The continental breakfast was good and plentiful. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
