This was a change of pace for my family. My wife had seen it was the #1 restaurant in Keystone and after looking at the menu, we were able to book a reservation.

The menu was awesome, from the soup, the king crab, to the lamp chops and braise ribs! And then desert by the fireplace!

The service was outstanding!

I highly recommend the Ski Tip Lodge!

On a recent ski trip to Keystone w/ my brother, we had dinner one evening at the Ski Tip Lodge and were, frankly, stunned by the excellent food and service. I went in expecting a good meal at a tourist trap, but this restaurant would win rave reviews even if located in a major city. Its location - in an old stagecoach house nestled in the mountains - makes it even better. The food was great, the wine list impressive, but most of all we were taken by the excellent service: nary a ski bum in sight (at least not outwardly so). We counted about a dozen tables, probably eight well-trained waiters/servers, and two sommeliers recommending great wines from an extensive list. After dinner, we were escorted to another room with a yawning fireplace where we enjoyed dessert and an after-dinner drink. I could not imagine a better way to cap a day on the slopes and look forward to returning next year.

The cross country ski mecca in Colorado. Be sure and ask about the Pitons in the fireplace and ceiling. And the reason for the "ski tip" name. Ask about Max and Edna Dercum and the book>

We went for dinner and all of the courses were very good and the wine pairings were great. Part of the reason we like doing wine pairings is that usually you get a nice description of the wine and why they chose to pair it with the dish. Out of the dozens of wine pairings we’ve done this was probably the lengthiest descriptions we’ve ever received and it was awesome. A nearby table ordered a bottle of wine and the sommelier delivered a great speech on that wine as well. Food service was also very well done. Atmosphere was nice and homey with desert served in the sitting area by the fireplace which was a great end to a great meal.
