We got there on a Friday night and they told us 35 to 45 minutes but within5 minutes we were seated. Great news. Food was great. Loved the pinto beans and garlic shrimp tacos

My wife and I just had an amazing dinner here. We live locally, have been here before, and we will definitely be back. The restaurant is on Wadsworth, just south of 285. We each had the street tacos. I had steak and shrimp. The flavor was great, Hannah, our server, was extremely friendly, and the drinks were tasty. It was my birthday, so they gave me free sopapillas for dessert. Enjoy!

Our group of eleven - six adults and five kids from 12 years to 18 months - came here the day before Thanksgiving. So it was crowded, but we had reservations so were seated within a few minutes. We expected there would be wait times and there were. It seemed to take an unreasonable amount of time to get the bar order although the waters and soft drinks arrived quickly. Once the food was finally ordered we had another long wait for it to arrive - but it was extremely crowded and the day before a holiday so understandable.
Their homemade chips are wonderful. Salsa was okay, it was very mild. My order of three traditional soft tacos with ground beef were delicious (these are actually where my taco "bar" is set). I couldn't eat the beans or rice since the tacos got all my attention. There actually three others who ordered the same and we all ate two of the three. We should each just have ordered two tacos a la carte obviously. Another couple split a steak fajita order and enjoyed them. The kids ordered chicken fingers, or shrimp taco or quesadilla. They ate most of their dinners and seemed to like them. It did take quite a while for the bill to arrive, but because of the circumstance my review is on food, not service, this time.

Especially when you go in a large group this is a good place to patronize. The staff was very friendly and helpful with choices and the menu is huge, so every desire can be fulfilled. The food was good, we had tacos, enchiladas, burritos and chimichanga, everything was plentiful and tasty. The sopapillas (spelling) were disappointing, too doughy and quite tasteless however.

Third try, you say...how crazy is that...especially after two less than favorable experiences? Well, we had tried the "Colorado House" years ago, several times separated by a year or two each time disappointed not only with service but with the food. The service was poor to neglectful, and the menu choices we made were odd tasting or strange tasting, definitely not Mexican expectations. So why did we try it again, time after time West Word a local information publication, rates this place as number one in "peoples choice" for Mexican food. So, we think...could so many people be wrong? It is less than a quarter of a mile from our home, so off we went. Good and plentiful parking as it is located in a strip mall situation, separate building in center not attached to any store front, you can not miss it. First impression, when we walk in....interior changed, and nice additional outdoor seating. The hostess and cashier is on your left as you walk in, quick to greet you and let you know if seating can be immediate or if their is a wait time. If you are there during busy evening meal time, 5 p.m. and later, you can usually expect a wait. They give you one of those little devices to hold that will let you know when a table is ready, it is connected to your cell phone number. Waiting is not bad, turn over rate not bad, limited seating in foyer for wait time, or seating outside weather permitting, pleasant area in summer with large potted plants and comfortable, though in summer quiet toasty, be aware it is not a covered area. The interior is pleasant, low lighting, good ambiance with either booths, tables, bar area, or outdoor seating which is pleasant shady and covered....I can not speak to population of flies...they are unavoidable regardless, and we have never asked to be seated in this area. The hostess is always open to seating request, i.e. booth by window, etc. Beware the booths located to your right as you come in close to outdoor seating areas are busy, a little claustrophobic and dark....of the seating available these would be the least desirable in my opinion....but you may prefer these. The waitresses work in teams of two, you are greeted promptly and informed who you wait staff will be, chips and salsa arrive and drink orders taken. The menu is not extensive or confusing, options clearly stated and substitutions i.e. example alternate beans, extra scoops of ice cream with sopa's all okay...so ask and see. The menu options are well rounded, and there is an al la carte option...meal portions are large but not so large, you would need a stomach like a hot air balloon to finish your meal, or ask for a take away bag that bulges. Meals arrive hot usually, four stars and not five as one time tamales arrived luke warm and without requested green chili.... Wait time for meals to arrive varies depending naturally on how busy they are at the time, though wait never extensive and waitresses attentive. Alcoholic drinks have been consistently good, and beer is cold.....a plus, though no frosted mugs. Noise level, again dependent on crowds, but music piped over sound system could be lower...but then again, that may be my age....smiles. So glad we tried this place again, it is now our go-to Mexican restaurant.....ole!!!!!!
