We saw three staff members for a total of less than 20 minutes during our four-night stay. Coffee that was supposed to be available at 7:30 was not. Our room was spacious and attractive. The en suite bathroom ($50/ night extra) was cramped but adequate. We faced the main street, which was noisy if we left the windows open but fine if we closed them.

Thank you for your comments. It is not right for a guest to feel neglected and we sincerely apologize for your disappointment. Occasionally, our staff must run an errand for the hotel or accompany a guest to a local restaurant, museum, shop, etc. Whenever possible, we leave a note, letting guests know of our expected return. We now serve an unadvertised complimentary breakfast at 7:00 AM sharp in the winter and 7:30 AM in the summer. Please see our response to "Sam W." who reviewed us on March 7, 2016 regarding breakfast items. The current manager makes it a point to greet each and every guest and offer assistance with whatever requests they may have. Regarding the street sounds, please see our response to “skiracecoach” who reviewed us on January 23, 2016. Our rates directly correspond to our rooms' amenities and there is a $15/night charge for each additional guest beyond our standard double occupancy rates.

This hotel is very charming. It takes you back in time over a hundred years. The location was great too. This was the first BB type place I have stayed and it was great, even sharing a bathroom was fine!

We stayed in Room 1, with a view of the main street in Silverton. The motel was beautifully decorated and clean. The only downside was that the women's bathroom only had one toilet, one sink, and one tub, which doesn't seem to be enough when the motel is full. We stayed at the Teller House for our anniversary. We had considered staying in Durango, but the Teller House is just as nice as the old west hotels in Durango. The cost is much more reasonable, and we really enjoyed Silverton with its smaller crowds and cool mountain air.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback—it was instrumental in helping us to decide to remodel and add more private baths for our valued guests. All of our rooms now have private baths except two (#1 and #10). Only these two share our spacious European style bathroom now, which has a separate tub/shower area (with locking door), separate commode (also with locking door), and an antique sink with large dressing area, mirror, hair dryer, extra towels, etc.

Great, small hotel in center of Silverton. More like old style, family hotel.
Shared bathroom, but for this size of hotel it is not an issue. HR100 start one block across. Nice buffet on first floor.

Highly recommend it.
