Wonderful. A first rate place to stay in every respect. A unique and beautifully renovated building; warm, welcoming hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble ; a wide range of food choices at breakfast with delicious home-cooked options; spotlessly clean throughout with lots of nice extra touches - cosy bathrobes and slippers, cake on arrival etc.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return. Highly recommend.

Absolutely superb. From the minute we arrived, we were impressed. The old church has been very thoughtfully and tastefully converted with quality materials and fittings. It really is a very enjoyable place to spend time.

We were welcomed, shown to our room, then offered tea or coffee. This was served (a full cafetière and tea pot) in the very comfortable lounge, with leather chesterfields, and with tasteful music playing gently in the background. Oh - and there was also the full iced sponge that came with the tea and coffee.

The bed was comfortable; one of the largest king-size beds I’ve seen. We slept with the windows open and were wakened by the ‘dawn chorus’ at 03.30. It was worth being wakened to hear it! We quickly got back to sleep.

Tea and coffee facilities in the room came with fresh milk. A big plus for my wife.

Breakfast too was first class. Just about anything was available, and freshly cooked to order in front of your eyes.

Most hotels issue dire warnings if you take food from the dining room. While we didn’t take up the offer, we were positively encouraged to take whatever we wanted, and bags were provided for the purpose.

We look forward to a return trip sometime.

A very individual property in a brilliantly converted church in a good location. This was my first visit to Northumberland and I’m not sure we could have found a better place to stay. A warm welcome from our hosts with lots of tips on places to visit. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was brilliant. We will definitely return to Northumberland and this is likely to be where we choose to stay.
