Authentic Italian food from the Amalfi Coast Of Italy.
EVERYTHING is HOMEMADE (including the bread), pasta, deserts, with pride and up to PERFECTION, by ITALIAN COOKS, served by ITALIAN SERVERS.
There is NO OTHER PLACE in Ct.that offers that.
5 STAR is not enough.
HIGHLY REGARDED.

We absolutely were enchanted by the restaurant on our first visit and since we don't live close have not been able to return since we are in the area Sundays and they are not open. We made a point of arranging our schedule to return again. We were so disappointed - nothing was the same. The service neglectful and food just so so. Our expectations were high after our first visit but after the second time I would not return again.

We'd heard rave reviews about this little Italian trattoria in the heart of Bridgeport. The ambience was great. An Italian waiter with an I-don't-speak-English-so-well schtick. Packed at 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday. All boded well. We started with the $20 cheese and meat platter --- a couple kinds of cheese (one okay, one tasteless) in 1" chunks, some olives, prosciutto (good), a sliced salami and 'potato cake' - a barely warm lump of mashed potato with a tiny bit of red sauce on top (for our table of 4, they served only 3 of these with the platter --- thank goodness). We also ordered fried calamari, but that didn't arrive till the entrees were served --- it was cold -- think this might have been good earlier. Of the 4 entrees, the braised pork shank looked the best. The seafood risotto was pitifully spotted with seafood --- a huge plate of rice basically (Go to Sienna in Stamford for this! It is delicious there.) The sole with lemon and capers (and they threw some the same olives from the meat/cheese board on the plate) was a huge sop of mush with a few spongy rosemary'd potato chunks probably cooked that morning. I did not taste the wild boar pasta, but half of it was left on the plate, and no take home bag was requested. Both side orders of green beans and asparagus were overcooked...and in asparagus season, it was odd to have bitter asparagus instead of the sweet juicy vegetable you can get anywhere now. Finally, the pannacotta --- too much gelatin. The best thing about the dinner was the complimentary after dinner drink. This may have been an off night. Neither of the owners our friends had met on previous occasions seemed to be around, but if this is the backup, they have a problem, or if this is the real thing --- no thanks.
