“A Day hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

A hike to Shivapuri Nagajun can be great choice while you are in Kathmandu. It is about 3 hours hike up and you can enjoy a great view of Kathmandu and surrounding hills from the top and then hike down for about 2 hours.

“A full day trek.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

It's an up hill climb and the trek was fun and tiring but wish there was a view-tower to look around the surrounding. It's obvious that that one wishes to walk around and see the surrounding after climbing such height, but the view is not good as trees block all sides and you get to settle for sneak-a peak between the trunks of trees.

“A hike for the adventurous”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

Seven college friends and I hiked to the peak of Shiva Puri during the rainy season. The beginning is pretty easy since it's a road which leads to a monastery/village. After that, the trail turns more treacherous. There are wooden planks to cross a gulley to get to the trail, and then the trail turns into a dry stream bed. It's relatively difficult to climb. Then it gets easier for a while. There was also a point where the trail is blocked by a group of fallen trees that you have to climb over. At the top the trail turns into a lot of stairs, some of which are in several different states of disrepair. The peak is great, and if you go during the right time the view is beautiful. As it is, we saw some amazing clouds that were level with the 2700m peak. We hiked rather slow, but it took us 5 hours to reach the peak and then another 3 ish hours down. Overall, an amazing experience!

“Hotels on top are 0-star”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2013

When you take the hike to Chisapani you'll stay overnight in one of the hotels in that village. Expect the worst there and prepare. Rooms are smelly, dirty and moist. We checked 2 hotels and took the best. Hardly slept there...
