I was taken to Primavera Pub by some friends that had been before. It is a nice and popular Portuguese restaurant. Go early or wait. We were greeted and seated given some olives and ordered drinks. We started with the chicken soup which was very good. My friend an I ordered the rib eye and shrimp. The shrimp were a good size and plentiful. The ribeye turned into a sirloin steak, which normally would not be a problem but there was a large piece of grizzle the tan their half the steak which made it uneatable. The dish came with potatoes and rice. The wifes had the specials, baby back ribs and the veal chop. There were good size portions and prepared quite well. The best part is the price. It was more than reasonable for a party of four. Even with the hard to eat steak we will go back and try a Portuguese dish.

This is one of the best Portuguese restaurants in CT.
This is a very casual and cozy restaurant. The service is really good and they try their best to please you.
I had the codfish dish of the menu, but I asked to be served with vegetables (photo). It was delicious. The other dish was a huge portion of Lamb stew. It was SO good!
We had Bean Pastries (Pasteis de Feijao) with an Espresso coffee to finish our splendid meal.

This tiny restaurant is busy and crowded. We were lucky to find a parking spot and a table on a Saturday night. The food was good, but the service was very slow. They definitely needed another server.

On a weekend night you should go either at 5 PM or 8:30, because in between it is mobbed. No reservations, people just stand in line. Also there's no real atmosphere -- not to the room, anyway, but there IS the atmosphere of people having the meal of their lives and enjoying it, and each other, immensely. This place has a lot of gusto. The food is truly addictively good. And the value for the money is unbeatable. Just don't go for a quiet romantic night with lots of splashy atmospherics. Go when you are FAMISHED!

Having visited with family recently I found this restaurant to be incredibly authentic and delicious. Giant portions, reasonably priced. The decor is a bit dated and honestly not very inviting, but the food really makes up for it. With a little remodel and investment, this place is a goldmine. Authentic Portuguese....that's what I like!
