We were greeted warmly and had high hopes for this venue after reading some favorable reviews. It seemed strange that at 730pm on a Saturday night, the house was half empty/full, while another restaurant in the area turned us away as they were booked solid. We decided to go with salad and tapas. The garlic olives on the table were tasty , and the warm bread was delicious and crusty. We had to ask twice to get another serving of it. We are not meat eaters, so we ordered tuna tartare, shrimp in garlic, squid and a fried artichoke salad. The tuna tartare was excellent, fresh and well presented. The artichoke salad was bland, despite the addition of fresh cilantro and sliced jalapenos. The artichokes were not very flavorful and tasted strongly of the oil they were fried in. The feta cheese was absent of flavor. I asked for a sauce or dressing as there was none and they returned the salad with additional greens and a slight amount cirtrus based dressing. Still bland but better. The shrimp arrived with an unusual red sauce- not sure what was in it but it tasted like a madeira wine that didn't complement the shrimp. Same treatment with the grilled squid- and we did not eat it. They were kind enough to remove it from the bill. Our clothing smelled of fried fish when we left. We may not try this place again- time will tell.
