We first visited La Tavolo in Apri 2017 so we stopped today for dinne4 on the way home from PA. My sister and her husband were with my wife and I.
We started with calamari for the table accompanied by a red sauce and tartar sauce - very tender served perfectly.
We had white bean soup with escarole baked with bread and sprinkled with Parmesan.
My wife and I really enjoyed this soup, a littl rich and filling, great flavors.
I had the lMolinsana grilled sausage with broccoli rabe.
I’m picky about Italian sausage. I look for the flavor and the grind of the meat.
No fennel in this sausage. Without it the flavor was wonderful but the grind was coarse. I loved it, my brother in law likes it less coarse but not fine. He concurred, very good sausage.
My wife, siste4 and brother in law had gnocchi with the bolognese.
We make our own gnocchi and loved these and the sauce was probably the best I’ve eaten. Rich and almost creamy in a non creamy sense! Perfect as it can get.
Oh yes a glass of wine, a basket of warm bread with your choice of white bean spread or olive oil.
