Went here twice in a week! Great brunch on Sunday, and lunch other days. Owners are French, and lots of that influence in their cooked to order food.Love the atmosphere on the patio, and the friendly people who work there. Got a fantastic salad and my husband loved his cuban sandwich. Omelettes great too! Very casual so you can go in wet, sweaty kayaking clothes! You won't regret it!

You order from the counter. Eat inside or outside. There are two separate decks outside; which are decorated nicely. The chicken salad sandwich was wonderful; nice hearty sandwich on your choice of breads. Will definitely return.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the Kayak rental shop around the corner on the main street. This quaint little cafe is tucked around the corner on Wilson Street almost directly behind the kayak vendor.

Riverside park has a wonderful kayak launching pier directly onto the Imperial River which has lots of shade. Unfortunately, our trip was made in the wake of Hurricane Irma and so there were LOTS of fallen trees strewn across the waterway and the current was quite fast (about 2 knots). Such conditions are hazardous and one must avoid capsizing.

We began our day by eating breakfast at a simply fantastic cafe, aptly named The Survey Cafe in honor of the cities early history as the site where the Army Corps of Engineers pitched camp in the area in 1870 and named the area and river simply "Survey."

The city fathers, circa 1901, changed the name of the town to "Bonita Springs" since "Survey" lacked sales appeal (according to the city's website).

What's fascinating about the selection of its alluring name, "The Survey Cafe" owners, cook and management (read father Phillipe, mother Sophia and son Paul) are from France.

Several members of our kayak fleet fancied themselves as speakers of French. Phillipe, of course, graciously assisted the faint of tongue and nevertheless took my order in English.

OK, it's nice when a cafe has a cute name, convenient location, cute decor but let's cut to the chase: YES, the FOOD is delicious.

I had, and I'm not making this up. a "BLT with egg" on some fancy bread that was so light, fresh and fluffy that I was tempted to buy some extras for waterborne consumption.

I'm not going back to kayak on the Imperial (Lover's Key close by is more scenic) but I certainly plan to stop here again and have breakfast.

We stopped in old downtown Bonita Springs for lunch while boating. This quaint restaurant, under new management, was a good choice. The favorite items from our table of five were the croissants and BLT flatbread.

The menu offered lots of choices with a French flair. I'm attaching the picture of a small salad, easily shareable. The owners are very friendly and the service was so personable.

I believe they have music on the patio on weekend evenings. It's worth giving them a try to keep this new business going. The breakfast menu looked yummy with lots of breads and quiches.
