A friend and I joined a knowledgeable docent for an hour's walk on the boardwalk; we decided we'd have missed out without his company. He pointed out lots of unfamiliar trees and cypress knees and other plants; he explained about the reclaimed water from the sewer system that is piped in to create the wetland; he showed us birds in the water and on the wing. And we even saw the huge alligator, Half-jaw, right beneath the boardwalk at the edge of the water.
