We went to the restaurant at lunch time and the restaurant was swamped. The service was a little spotty as a result but overall not too bad. I ordered the grouper salad; and instead received the grouper with rice and beans. The grouper was excellent; the sides were OK. My wife ordered the shrimp plate and they bought the special shrimp plate instead and left it at the table along with the ordered item. The shrimp was excellent too. The appetizer calamari was good. I ordered sweet plantains and they were out so I ordered the fried green plantains instead which were good as well.

Enjoyed a wonderful very large Cuban sandwich. We ate outside on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather and homey atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and food was reasonably priced.

We went here after a morning kayak tour in the 10,000 Islands. There's a cheery outdoor area in a garden setting. The fresh sangria wet my whistle nicely!
I ordered blackened grouper salad; boyfriend had shrimp enchilada.
The grouper was tasty - the salad part a bit boring - mostly just iceberg lettuce, cukes and tomatoes. Shrimp enchilada was not the kind you get at traditional Mexican restaurants --rather, shrimp is served in a little dish with enchilada sauce (not wrapped in tortilla or smothered in cheese). Accompanied by rice & beans. Very good!
Service was friendly but on the slow side, and the server forgot our order of tostones! Otherwise, a lovely spot to grab a bite while exploring the Everglades.

We are from Wyoming and kayak the 10,000 islands every winter for the past 5 years. The absolute highlight of those trips have been eating at the Havana Cafe going out and comming back. We will be there again this Winter. I can't wait. Don't miss this experience. The delicious, freshly prepared food, the great proprietors, wonderful staff and beautiful ambience make this a "must stop" experience. I'm salivating now just from memory!!

We stopped here after an airboat ride. It was a very unusual place. There were trinkets, masks and even a candelabra hanging from the trees which also provided shade from the sun.
We shared dolphin fish sandwich. We only ordered this after being shown a photo of it because we thought it was dolphin. We were assured it was freshly caught. It was very tasty.
