I'm pretty sure that this was my first stay at a "Courtyard by Marriott." I was pleasantly surprised! We booked a king bed room that had a whirlpool en suite and a balcony. Everything in the room was fine except the lighting. The lights weren't very bright and weren't placed appropriately, whether it's the living area or the bathroom. But on to the amenities...
There's a heated outdoor pool (that needs constant cleaning because of the live oaks constantly dropping leaves in it) as well as jacuzzi (that we could never enjoy because it was always full). The pool deck also has a tiki bar. There is anther outside area on the opposite side of the lobby / commons area. The ground floor also has a real restaurant although you'd think it was a coffee/snack bar only. Dinner menu items included local grouper and porterhouse steaks. The ground floor also features plenty of seating inside and out for dinner, drinks or just relaxing. (Note that you cannot get coffee until 7AM, however, and for some reason, they're not putting coffee in the room despite the rooms having coffee makers.)
Beside the check-in counter is a "market." It's grab-and-go and you pay at the check-in counter. Toiletries were available, as well as sandwiches, beer and wine. Although the property isn't oceanfront, you can walk directly to the beach via a walkway on the back/east end of the parking lot.More
