All in all, a good place to stay. No smart devices for streaming movies. Several light bulbs out. Tack strip exposed in second bedroom. Some door latches not working. Vacuum cleaner has small areas of exposed wire. Well stocked and clean. Comfortable bed. Would stay again, as long as it's next to the beach. Entrance not well marked

We stayed in condo 148. It had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Kitchen was fully equipped with pans and utensils - even a Keurig. This unit had extra beach chairs and beach toys. Wifi was free and fairly fast. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. Access to beach is very easy and not a long walk. No need to worry about having to go back to the room if something is forgotten. View from the balcony was gorgeous especially with the full moon. Mainsail is away from Destin proper. Actually closer to Sandestin. We were there over July 4 so traffic driving into Destin was heavy but not horrible. The beach at Mainsail is quiet and not at all crowded. Mostly families. Not a place for teens who want to have loud music. Parking is under cover. Great for keeping your car out of the hot sun. We will chose Mainsail the next time we return to the area.

Room Tip: Buildings 1 and 3 are in the front. 2 and 4 further back and may not have a great beach view.

It might not be the worst vacation experience we have ever had, but it is pretty darn close. Especially given the premium price that was being charged, you would have expected to receive equal quality. This unit is far from that.

Pros
- the communication prior to arrival and the check process was simple and easy.

Cons
- limited view of gulf (contrary to old pictures shown on website of a full gulf view, it now is taken up by a 4-level house)
- a/c temperature was limited to 68 degrees
- had ceiling fans in all the rooms, that didn't help the Master Bedroom as the fans made the cheap plastic blinds rattle all night long
- blinds were broken and did not prevent light from entering room (early morning wake -up)
- walls are paper thin, could hear patio next door partying until 2:30am (yeah, did I mention blinds allow early wake up)
- room right off elevator, so with paper thin walls, it sounded like every person that was in that hallway was also in your room, I got up twice because it sounded like I left the door open.
- slider doors to balcony barely function. They are extremely heavy and even after maintenance greased up the rails, my wife and daughters struggled to open, which is better than they fared when they were stuck on the balcony because they weren't strong enough to open...
- screen door on slider had a ripped screen (doesn't keep many bugs out that way) but no worries, it wasn't even on the rails to slide so that had to get fixed too
- tv cords behind a tv that is hung on a wall is normal, but the cords that are to be contained behind the tv were hanging down.
- power cord to tv was in the on position but would not work, reset it multiple times, would not work, twisted the wires and put it on the tv stand (rather than hanging almost to the ground) and then it worked. It looked to be an original power strip from 1980 or 1990 when the condo was built.
- the decor, paint, low ceiling (my head almost touched the ceiling in the master shower - I am not that tall 5'11''), cd boom boxes in all the rooms (that is the high end music system or as we called it the CD Lovers Paradise)

All of this lead you to believe you were staying in a much lower class condo rather than the "Luxury" condo that Wyndham advertises Mainsail to be.

I called Wyndham and requested a refund and was told that wasn't possible. I asked for a partial refund and I would leave halfway through the trip, that wasn't possible. They said they would give me an $80 courtesy credit but that has yet to appear. Save yourself, your family and your vacation and do not stay at the Mainsail 4453 condo.

Also, I have submitted this review twice on Wyndham's website ,and it has yet to be posted....wonder why!

Room Tip: Save yourself, your family and your vacation and do not stay at the Mainsail 4453 condo.

We visited Mainsail and the Destin area the week before Memorial Day. The resort is older but clean and our grandson enjoyed the pools. It's a very easy walk to the beach with no steps along the beach boardwalk. The elevator was occasionally out of service and being on the 7th floor steps weren't an option for us,so walked to other end of building to use that one.Luggage carts can be hard to find and we searched the next building to find one. There are 4 buildings. Building 1&2 are closest to the beach with 3&4 behind those. I would stay again but would chose at different condo. Ours wasn't as clean as it could have been and had a few issues.

I have been staying here since I was a little girl. The pool has been renovated since (no longer shaped like a number 1 and not as cold, haha) and looks beautiful! There are tennis course and shuffle board as well as plenty of space for other outdoor activities. The best thing about this place is that it is in walking distance of the beautiful white sand. I recommend this place to families (NOT COLLEGE STUDENTS). The security is cracking down in Destin so I would keep the parting in PCB.

Room Tip: inside rooms have balconies that look at the pool and beach
