Last minute lodging on a long road trip without reservations. Got last room available, and picked this place because it advertised on-site laundry, and at that time, that was a blessing. The room was moderately clean - could have been better. But smoke smell was overwhelming. We had to open the windows to keep fresh air moving in. We were told it was a smoking room, but this smell was intense. It was a bare bones "suite". It did have a kitchenette and refrigerator. But if you don't smoke - you may want to drive on to the next hotel / motel due to the odor. The bed only had the sheet and the decorative quilt, but no blanket which was weird. The pillows were very mediocre and not very comfortable. The absolute worst part was the woman behind the counter. She lived in the room right next to the office, and when she answered the door, she made us feel like we rudely interrupted her evening. She answered the door and said something like "What do you want?" I don't know if she was the owner or just an on-site attendant - but her personality was not going to draw customers in. She was abrupt, and when we asked questions about the room, she had a "Well do you want the room or not?" attitude. Honestly, after encountering her rudeness, we considered driving on, but it was late, we were tired, and we needed to do laundry. And then she charged us about $30 more than the advertised room rate. When we got to the room and tried the wifi code - it didn't work. We called her and asked if we had written it correctly. She basically hollered at us: "I gave you the code. If it doesn't work, there's nothing I can do about it." Needless to say, It didn't work. My recommendation: keep on driving. Don't even stop. When we left we saw a laundromat down the road. Wish we had seen it on the way in...
